Sublime! Serene! Soothing! Soulful! Felt gratified to listen to this magnificent ensemble of the ghazals of the Maestro, interspersed with lively commentary on his singing prowess in between ! It's always gratifying to listen to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, while he was performing live, owing to his lively interaction with the audience and inimitable style of gayiki ! He had an uncanny ability to catch the imagination of the listeners, while performing, and carry them, along with the rhythm ! Professionalism, Perfection, and Sophistication in performance was the hallmark of the great Khan Saab ! As a matter of fact, music is universal in its appeal and is all - pervading in its domain ! It has no boundary, barrier, language, race, or religion ! It's far above all sorts of meanness and narrow - mindedness ! Music speaks the language of love and compassion ! Infact, GOD - THE MERCIFUL - also communicates with - HIS MINIONS - through the - LANGUAGE OF LOVE, alone ! During his glittering career spanning over almost six decades, as a singer of exceptional merit, lthe great Mehdi Hassan Saab had always upheld the primacy of INSANIYAT (HUMANISM) and MOHABBAT (LOVE) in the life of an individual, through his divine creations ! Personally speaking, the great Khan Saab had made me understand the true meaning of love and had made me view this world in an altogether different perspective - full of hopes and aspirations ! I will remain ever grateful to him for this peerless gift ! This is the realization of an avid listener, after listening to the magical voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab for almost 45 years or so since 1978, when I first came to know about him through his divine creations ! I am now now 73 years old ! Thankful to Irfan Gabol Saab deserves appreciation for his immaculate choice of uploads ! Look forward to listen to many more of such rare and melodious stuff in the days to come !

This five-part series presentation on Immortal Mehdi Hassan by PTV appears to be the result of an assiduous hard work of Irfan Gabol and his team. He deserves the highest commendation from lovers of Hindustani classical and semi-classical music all around the world. It's amazing how the stalwarts of Indian music in the Muslim community -- whose training and gayeeki owed their roots to the Hindu Sanatani Vedas -- carried this rich culture and tradition to Pakistan after partition of India in 1947. It looks like there continued to be a big section of the Muslim community that was still devoted to the Indian music (because being former Hindus, that was in their blood/DNA). This is reflected in the Musicians' performance in Sitar, tabla, and innumerable Bharatiya instruments as well. Unfortunately, over the years, the rising tide of Islamism and Islamization of Pakistan gradually killed those musical instincts among the Muslim worshippers of Bharatiya fine art. This collection of reminiscences will most certainly revive Hindustani mausikee in Pakistan with full speed and come out in the open and flourish.
