[Lyrics] (fixed) I've heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya? Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth The minor fall, the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah, hmm Well, your faith was strong, but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to the kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well baby, I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor I used to live alone before I knew ya And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Well, maybe there's a God above But all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who has seen the Light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Halleluyah means, “Praise YAH!” Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For Yah, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV). YAH, which means ‘I AM’, in Hebrew, is the name which is above every name revealed to Moses (Exodus 3:13-15). Christ acknowledged that His name is YAH, as in YAH Saves, which is YAHSHUA because He has the name which is above every name. For He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM {YAH}” (John 8:58). “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). The Heavenly Father revealed the Savior’s name: YAHSHUA. The apostle Paul, on the road to Damascus, encountered the Savior, who introduced His name to him in Hebrew as YAHSHUA. The apostle Paul actually wrote the one name, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of YAHSHUA every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). Halleluyah, Praise YAH, Praise YAHSHUA! YAHSHUA is the name of salvation, and the gospel warns us not to reject His name: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:16-18). The Savior’s name is YAHSHUA, and any other names are counterfeits (Rev. 12:9).

Gosh, it's so obvious that they've continued to mature and train their voices--the singing at 2:24 (Kristie) and 3:15 (Mitch) and 3:45 (Scott) is just impeccable. I feel like I'm not noticing Avi and Kevin change as much (but oh wait, maybe that's because they're already PERFECTION)

Lots of comments about how these people look, and how they sound perfect. Auto tuned or not, processed a lot or a little, their sound seems sterile and robotic to me. I get why they appeal to many, but I'll take an imperfect human voice, that can convey emotion, any day. Artistry is not in mimicking digital perfection in my opinion.
@ayoubaswaray18568 жыл бұрын
Heywood Jabuzoff fuck u...but in all honesty, this song sounded kind autotuned but i assure u if they sang this live they would sound great. this was because they sang in the studio. dont give up on ptx. look at their live vids and you'll see

Lyrics I heard there was a secret chord That David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do you? Well it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth The minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] Your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] Baby I've been here before I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know) I used to live alone before I knew you And I've seen your flag on the marble arch And love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show that to me, do you? But remember when I moved in you And the holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah [x4] Maybe there's a God above All I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you And it's not a cry that you hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah [x13]

What's remarkable about this song is that it was written by a secularist, though a deeply spiritual one, who drew imagery from the Bible -- in particular the life of King David, along with implied references to Bathsheba, Samson and Delilah -- to create a song of universal themes. Namely, love, loss, penance, redemption and finally, imagining what we would say if brought face to face with god (in the original lyric, I mean -- not the one with the alternate 3rd, 4th and 5th verses, though they're no less beautiful and symbolic.) In the end, expecting the worst, hoping for the best -- and persevering through it all, come what may, is, in a very real sense, what this song is all about.

I was waiting the whole time for Kevin to have a solo, love his voice so much. Still a great cover though

Same, I was anticipating that he would probably sing the last chorus and then he didn't and I was like "NOOOO" if he got to sing this it would've been perfect for me

I just got home from the PTX concert in Dallas. To all the know it alls who say Scott can't sing this bass line, and that it is overproduced and autotuned, you are wrong. The live version sounded EXACTLY like this. Scott does sing the bass while Avi sings his solo. Not as loud or as strong as Avi, but pretty damn close. Their performance was amazing. I was sitting near Scott's and Mitch's parents, btw. They looked as star struck as the rest of us, lol.

No, sweetie. It's all live. :)

They don't use backing tracks or playback. It's all live, and they have always performed that way, way back when they came to Dallas and played in the House of Blues, to Verizon Center, to AA Center.

Licking Vanilla they consider it a compliment when people accuse them of that. They have proved many a skeptic wrong. I've heard them in private performance off mic. They really are that good.

Licking Vanilla if you don't think Scott can hit the bass notes, check out his cover of "I should tell ya momma on you" he was a bass in high school it's just that he has a crazy range
