A slight clarification: "Steamboat Willie" was actually the third Mickey Mouse cartoon released by Walt Disney. The first was "Plane Crazy" and the second was "The Gallopin' Gaucho." The first two were originally silent films, later re-released with sound, and "Steamboat Willie" was the first sound cartoon.

I am aware of that, and maybe should have written that in. Mine main focus was which will reach public domain status, since all indications are that Plane Crazy will reach that status next year.

Kaiser Beans did a good job on the History of Warner Brothers cartoons. It seems odd, considering his other series is Kyoto Video, about classic anime.

I’ve rewatched it quite a few times. It’s among the most ambitious and best produced KZbin docs I’ve seen. Dave Lee Down Under and his docs about the evolution of several iconic cartoon characters are also up there.

It helps that his behavior doesn't fall under any black stereotype. As often as non-human primates are used as black caricatures, I don't feel comfortable in defaulting to saying he’s a monkey or chump. Banobo isn't that bad of idea.

I decided that at least a few are too big to make a video, listing several Kaju. I am so much fun working on “Zontar - the Thing from Venus.” That I wanted to start making individual public domain Kaiju videos

I have a question. I have seen and read five notices about copyright reduction. Is there even a small chance that they can work and the period of copyright rights may be reduced, provided that large companies go bankrupt by then .

I have a question. you suppose that somewhere in America or in other countries and decide to renew the term of copyright.What happens to works that have not been renewed copyright.

Any situation I’ve heard of when an intellectual property got out of public domain was when it had something like a piece of copyrighted music that was used in it.

@@kcthesledgestoryteller so let's say if there is a film and the copyright is not renewed for it before the start of the new law, it will become public domain
