I guess that depends on which part your from. In my town the high schools have the regular line that serves 2 main options to pick from plus sides, a baked potato bar, and a salad bar. Oh, and then there is also the line where they sell bottled drinks, chips, sandwiches, & etc. Or atleast that's how it was when I was in school back in '06/'07-'09/'10.

The just throw it in a giant microwave/heater. And it isn't rich suburbs either. This came from the fact that california didn't want to give out contracts to private businesses and wanted the state to provide food.
