Beautiful bird, they are definitely underrated. I’d love to get a stud green wing and blue wing on the wall. Sounds funny but coming from central Georgia and only shooting woodies and an occasional hooded merganser, getting some teal would be awesome. Nice video!

Congratulations on the drake Spoonie. They are very attractive when they are plumed out like that. I haven't eaten one yet, we don't get very many this far south, and that was back when we got ducks. Really enjoyed the video. I just subscribed yesterday, I will watch all of them! Question: How many decoys do you put out typically (looked like plenty)? And do you ever use spinners? I find that the teal like the spinners and the big ducks do not where I hunt in Plaqumine parish. I mainly only have teal, so we have been using it. We typically only put out 18-24 dekes; I think additional dekes might draw more birds based on your success.

We use as many spinners as we can find during teal season but we typically don’t use them after the first couple of weekends of big duck season. This particular hunt we were reflecting what we saw while scouting in our decoys spread. We would’ve brought even more decoys if we could have but unfortunately we were in pirogues and couldn’t fit them.

Brother if you want spoonies, plenty of people will gladly not shoot at them and let you shoot them on Catahoula. But I get it, the drakes are pretty. Great video. One day I need to try to hunt some public land down south.

Idk that spoonies are necessarily special to me. What’s special to me is getting a drake pretty enough to mount in the public marsh down here where I’m from. It’s really the idea that we don’t get many pretty drakes here anymore and I’ve always wanted one for the wall that I could say I got while hunting in the public marsh. They also make an incredible Mount, so there’s that part too lol

@@fallingtidetv Oh I wasn't hating. They are pretty birds. We just usually don't shoot them if possible because they aren't the best tasting. But everyone has their dream duck. I'm gonna have to drive a ways to get a cinnamon teal. Occasionally we get ruddy ducks, but I've never shot one. I'd def mount that. Anyway, you put in the work on public land, you deserve it. Congrats.

@@forcemajeur.5138 nope! I love paddling. I usually a pirogue instead of a kayak. My pirogue had spud poles so it doesn’t move when I shoot.

I just got back into the highway canal had to cross the mouth of the lil lake but I just spint 3 hours in the prairie and didn’t see the first duck or teal not even a coot nothing so this week I’m heading down south by you boys so I can atlest get my son on something so y’all be safe and have a good X-MAS
