I've tipped over 120+ deer in my time (not bragging, just food on the table) and butchered them all myself. Love your approach to hiking in, tipping a deer and carrying the venison out with nothing wasted. Take care my brother!!!

Cheers but unfortunately giving away the location of where you hunt is not not a good idea if you want to go back and get a deer. We all have to do our homework when comes to public land hunting spots, my advice is...google maps and look for good access, slips or faces that catch the sun morning or evening

I've been thinking about this.... One of the things I love about the way you set about things is the fact that you travel light and do things that are hard. The terrain is pretty rough to put it mildly and yet you're hucking your own meat out. There are a lot of fat lazy hunters out there. You are not one of them. I enjoy your discipline, attention to detail and clear level of expertise on the gun, though it is a bit of a canon. ( I know the winds make things hard in NZ with a lighter calibre ). I love the shot detail, i.e. elevation, wind etc. Anyhow mate, keep up the great work. I'm glad that you Kiwis are almost family to us Australians....

Have you thought of getting a red filter for your Lenser headlamp? Your dog even got in the picture - awesome. Would you ever make use of the antlers to make Walking sticks or knife handles, Trout knocking stick/priest perhaps? I have a deer trout priest and it's awesome - drilled down centre and filled with lead then capped with antler top.
