Public Lands, Dirt Roads, and Chukar (Devil Birds)

With an abnormal and insubstantial winter, we planned for a last-minute dirt road escape, packed up, loaded up Ace, a Llewellin Setter (the “Englishman”), Jacques, a Braque Français (the "Frenchy"), and Rye, a German Shorthaired Pointer (the “German”) and drove into unfamiliar terrain--new country was discovered, and a few wild chukar were found.

@@ChukarChasers Thanks for hitting me back guy's. My new pup was able to tag along with his older brother for 15 late season hunts here in Apple Valley and the eastern Sierra's to close out '20-'21. At 6 mo old it seems he's a natural. Now I find myself trying to explain to him he's gotta wait 'til fall lol... This is proving to be more challenging than getting him started. He's like, "but Dad, I'm getting good at it" lol... Why can't we go NOW... Blessed to have him... Good lookin out...

Tremendous short film. Congratulations on some fine camera work and editing. I very much enjoyed how that was put together. Showing all aspects of the hunt. Well done. Our season here in Utah is almost over - but has been very rough. The drought has wiped out the birds and there are a fraction of chukars on the range this year. Despite low chukar numbers, it’s always worth getting out and going for it. Thanks for your dedication to filming these adventures. Take care! Bryce
