Her son not only shot his girlfriend and her dog through the bedroom door but also he tried to walk out of Walmart with a large TV, while out on bail. Evidently being above the law runs in the family. Very sad that she showed such bad judgement over a 40 year old problem child son.

If I'm not mistaken, there is body camera footage of the night that her son was arrested. She definitely represented herself as his representative during the encounter. It happened in their house, and the police had the right to be there. It was a rather tense situation, so it makes sense that the supreme Court gave her leniency for her reaction.

To me what she did was unethical career wise, however the very person handing her punishment has done more to protect his child, I guarantee. The only thing different is he would have been able to make a call and have his child’s arrest handled, but of course no one would have helped her if she called. "Emotional and stressful" situations mitigate the seriousness of the offense as he said, and so reduce her punishment. Wouldn't ANY case where a judge has a relative who gets in trouble be emotional and stressful. Does that mean that they too will get a pass for using their position to protect their own? These people are the cause of our eroding legal system. "Why should any of us be subject to laws when these people who have freinds in the system and/or political contacts are. You guys arent' any better than we are, and probably worse.
