By request, I am giving an overview of publishing houses and imprints to know, specifically for YA! I'll cover what the Big Five are, other major publishers, and small and medium independent publishers that are super legit.
My focus is really on YA publishing, since that's my area of expertise--many of these publishers have a TON more imprints that cover a wide variety of topic areas.
Here's a link to a handy chart that shows how HUGE the Big Five are: almossawi.com/b...

Have you heard of Shadow Mountain Publishing? I think they may be a medium or small publisher. I have liked some of the books they have published.

I propose Publishing Houses to publish and add a little bit, book, about ways of spending Chtistmas and Easters for each kind of person. This will be published in 2022. Who want?

This was amazing and so informative. Do you have one dedicated to children's publishing houses?? Or if not would you consider making one?

Hi. I have always had this question. Can you can approach publishers from a foreign country..? For ex. Can a writer from India approach a publisher abroad. This is of course of the publisher does not have an imprint or branch in India.

Hi, I know this video is a year old, but hopefully you see this anyway. :) I am wondering if you can self publish and later have an established publisher re-issue the book? Say it does well and is the first part of a series and you still own you rights, does this happen? Ever heard of it?

Yes. I've seen this happen. Sara Wolf self published Lovely Vicious in 2013, and then it was re-issued by Entangled in 2016 and re-titled as Love Me Never. You can still see the original cover on Goodreads in the other editions section.

This comment is old but she recently mentioned this in a video. Generally speaking, no. Publishers want the first rights to a title and/or series. There are very few exceptions and they tend to be titles that have performed massively well in the self pub sphere such as After or 50 Shades.

hi there , can you tell me plz the big distributions
@AlexaDonne
@AlexaDonne 6 жыл бұрын
Distribution is not my area of expertise, as I let my publisher handle that. The two names I know best are Ingram and Baker and Taylor. I've heard these names from bookseller and librarian friends. Authors don't deal directly with distribution--it's one of the benefits of traditional publishing.
