Substance use research journals, like journals in a number of other disciplines, are more likely to publish studies that use quantitative research methods. This often makes it very difficult for qualitative and mixed methods researchers to find journals where they can publish their findings. This bias in the peer-review and publication process has far-reaching implications because it can limit the evidence and knowledge base for the field since the richness of qualitative and ethnographic data is missing.
This webinar provides substance use researchers and students with tips and strategies for drafting qualitative manuscripts to increase the likelihood of publication.
