This week I spent 24 hours in the woods checking out Dave Erasmus' Corcovado project with my showbiz chum Tim Lovejoy, visited a trendy new entertainment outlet known as a "pub", and ran the Hackney Half half marathon.

Thanks for the tips on these things called 'pubs'...very useful for when i get a 'round' in for the match on saturday. They DO have TVs don't they?

Some do and some don't. The difficult thing to understand about pubs is that they are all different. Some play music, some are quiet. Some do cheap food, some do no food, some sell burgers for £18 on a slab of wood for some reason. It might be worth phoning ahead and asking the "Landlord" (he or she is in charge of the pub) if they will be "showing the football" (pub code for showing the soccer match on the TV). Hope this helps.
