Their first album had a few really good tunes on it, not the radio shit. The blurry riff with harmonics was pretty cool but they tried to go too radio too quick. And it ended up being ass pretty much the entire time.

this is just an opinion i have formed over the years but he really honestly seems to have a bad alcohol problem and i have thought this for well over a decade now. it would explain all of this type of behavior. i have also struggled with alcohol in the past and i know the signs. anyhoo, wishing the best for him.

DOTN didnt really make as many people's day in Europe, but I liked them. They were initially Soundgarden Alice in Chains unplugged. I remember when he fired all the bandmates before the second album which took on much bigger influences and ideas.

Honestly, I saw them in the early 2000s and they were legitimately fantastic. To see the rapid(and extended) decline of his mental health has been incredibly sad. At one point, he was a fantastic performer(in my experience. YMMV) and I thoroughly enjoyed their headlining set when I saw them at the Kool Haus in Toronto.

I worked for a backline company about 6-7 years ago. I was booked to provide backline for Puddle of Mudd at a casino. I set up all the gear but they never showed up. Working in backline for 11 years, this was the only time a band has just not showed up with no notice to the promoter or anything.

Man ,it was like 10 years ago I went to a show that had puddle of mud and several other bands including Jane's addiction, And puddle of mud was definitely one of the opening bands.The lead singer was drunk as hell on stage. He lasted about 8 minutes and then walked off stage. Good for the band .

This might be a hottake, But I think Wes could actually be right in this scenerio. We only know about everything that's been made public recently thanks to the Machine Shop incident, But the management was let go all the way back in April of 2023. That's why Ubiquitous had next to no promotion in comparison to Welcome To Galvania as Wes was in the process of finding new management and didn't have access to the official pages. I still don't think he does cause the only posts are coming from the Facebook and a new Twitter account with like 12 followers on it. I can only speculate on what happened but knowing that the management heavily consisted of Wes' family... I think he might've gotten screwed over. I mean clearly something was off cause they let this man blow his voice out and embarrass himself online, Anyone who actually wanted him to succeed would've taken him aside after the Nirvana cover disaster and told him straight up that his voice was shot. But that's not what happened. Guess only time will tell if this new management + lineup will be better for him but so far he's sounding much clearer in interviews and isn't shouting as much as before. (Though he's still singing out of his register, Christ sake somebody tell this man to start downtuning his music) This is the last shot I'm willing to give him, If the band emplodes again it's either exclusively a him problem or a terrible judge of character.

his "management" was his sister who was just trying to ride off him financially, he was clearly unhappy with the direction ubiquitous took and the lack of involvement he had in the production, people are trying to dog on him but this is one of the few times where he made a decision for the better crazy how no one is comending him for finally stepping back on touring and taking time to focus on himself (and his voice)

That said, Everything about the Ubiquitous cycle just felt off, I don't think anyone on this page actually followed it, But I did and I could tell immediately that this wasn't just a Wes issue as the media portrayed, What could he possibly hope to gain by firing everyone? And immediately after the new album dropped also? It doesn't add up But there's also no way to know since Wes isn't gonna outright reveal the details publicly, It's left up to speculation and most people are gonna automatically assume he's guilty since he had a history of causing issues. There could've been hundreds of reasons why he fired the rest of the band (Though I've heard rumors that they left to start their own band but idk how true that is). Though I mean, It's Puddle Of Mudd, They aren't getting proper credit anyway. But if Wes keeps his word and continues to improve I don't think that will matter. So far so good

So not surprised, something similar happened at a venue where I was bar manager in Hartford, Ct. circa 2015/16 or so.... His band never showed up and concert was super delayed, several excuses were made, " the band was stuck in Cali due to flight..." , the bad was driving to venue but hit traffic in Maryland", or something? Wes pulled it together and put on a fantastic solo acoustic show, singing and storytelling about the shitshow that was his life. It was amazing and he hung out at merch table after saying hello to everyone! I hope he's ok, but has a fan for life here.
