I'm glad the OG spoke on the red on red beefs. As an outsider, I always assumed that Bloods had an unspoken rule that all beefs stay in the set and the Blood Gang family and never should it get to the level of the Crip gangs. People forget, the original Blood Identity was an exact counter to the ever expanding Crip empire that was either swallowing, developing alliances, or exterminating gangs both big and small around LA. Blood Identity was about defending neighbor borders, not expanding them like the Locs did. Even the Triple O Tyrone Tate said when he got word the Crips were coming to Watts to give cats the ultimatum, he said he linked up with the Green Jackets from Nickerson to keep them out! Athens Park had to fight, Bishops never forgot the carnage the Loss brought, Thr Brims were never a fan. OG Ceaser from IFGB said Family really got active when they heard the Crips were coming to Inglewood to turn the whole city Crip! Bloods before the union didn't even hang in each other's hoods, because they didn't have a common identity. A Bishop may not know any Piru Street Boys or a Brim maybe heard of a Black P Stone but never met one until county or state lock-up. The smartest thing all the anti-Crip gangs could do was link up and help one another. I think "Blood" was chosen because it represented the gangs who were staying "true", not getting turned out or punked in their own parks and neighborhoods by the legion of Crips. Before the gangs took it, "Blood" was a term of endearment used by young Afrikan-American men to show solidarity, used from N.Y. to the Mid-West, to Down South, to the Dub Coast. I guess the founders really meant to keep into all in the family, as red gangs were constantly outnumbered. The fact that MSB is still around is a testament to their dedication to their turf. Maybe those times are slowly dying out, look at DLGB and IFGB.

*Eastside Low Bottoms shit !* Where i grew up, it was Villain hood, even tho i lived in the Pueblos as a kid. Went to Holmes Ave Elementary for kindergarten and first grade. I remember those days in the mid to late 80's into the early 90's whn those 2 hoods were virtually inseparable. U'd always see (depending on person from which hood who did it) FDPV or FDVP struck up on the walls. I remember seeing my Big Bro writing MCG. I would be the only dude that DIDN'T bang that was hangin' with some of these cats. I had brothers and Relatives from both sets. We were all teens in the late 80's and early 90's. My older brother from the 'Lo's saw me walking up the alley with one of my lil Relatives (who eventually turned Villain and got killed at 15 yrs old in 1990), and as we greeted each other and kept walking, he called me back and told me simply, "U better not start bangin' !" He was later killed in the Pueblos in 1991, and i held true to my word ever since. Yea, i remember that pool hall too. It was a lil hole in the wall on the side of Dave's liquor store on 49th and Compton. It was burned down during the uprising in '92. And i hope they make the ceasefire work too. I saw a few OG Villains at the Pueblo Reunion, so let's all cross our fingers ! We need to push for a United Low Bottoms, red, blue and brown !
