I remember seeing RE8 console sales data. 80% of consoles sales was on PS. Microsoft will make more $$$ from PS users compared to Sony make $$$ from Xbox users. Gamepass fans were making fun of PS users for having to actually pay for games. Why would Sony port games to Xbox?

Honestly, even though its generation STILL had plenty of standout releases AFTERWARDS, I feel like the decline started to begin once Peter Moore left. As I said, even though the 360 still enjoyed PLENTY of great software after Peter Moore’s departure, they kinda became complacent and started playing it TOO SAFE with only releasing games from their “vetted” franchises (Halo, Gears, Forza) while ALSO getting DISTRACTED from serving their “hardcore base” to go screw around with the Kinect and a bunch of crappy shovelware. This is ALSO incredibly contrasted with the EXACT MOMENT from that generation where you could see the PS3 and Sony FINALLY begin to slam their foot down on the accelerator.

No one builds a digital library up on that system, no one even pays for online subscriptions on the Nintendo. The Nintendo doesn’t even have parties or a friends list ffs. No one plays popular 3rd party games there because the console is weak and plays every other game than Mario like trash. No one mains a Nintendo as their sole console. As I’ve been getting older, I’ve been WEIRDLY starting to like handhelds MORE simply due to the convenience factor (hell, I RECENTLY went and picked up a Vita that was ALREADY “setup” after missing out on it COMPLETELY and I’m just frankly kind of AMAZED at what this handheld from 2012 was ABLE TO DO). So if Sony made a new handheld that just gave me a NATIVE WAY to play MOST PS4 and PS5 games but on the go (and without having to deal with annoying “cloud BS”), I’d be totally down with it. 👍

Man, they had so many excuses to justify giving up. Their minds shouldn't have been focusing on flipping Playstation market share. They needed to rebuild trust and consistency after floundering X1 gen. They needed compelling 1st/2nd/3rd party games to attract people to the platform first and foremost. Worry more about growing your share than simply taking Playstation's share. They sealed Xbox's fate by rushing to put Xbox games on Playstation because now people will just get it there. And 2025 is no turning back because PS 2nd half and GTA6 touch down is the cut off. Everyone is going to buy for PS5 base and Pro. I also think bas4 finally gets a price cut or/and everything gets a modest discount. It's joever. As for the handheld thoughts, I think it's Portal 2 or Portal Pro. And now thinking about it more, the strategy makes more sense. Japan and Asia infrastructure is far beyond ours and they're enamored with mobile gaming. So the Portal would be their major target their. Sony invested and acquired quite a bit to boost Cloud streaming ability. The Cloud streaming for Portal is arguably better than current WiFi 5 streaming. At least on the current streaming receiver in Portal. I think that is the first major improvement. The other is curating PS1/2/PSP and PS4|PS5 indies to play natively. But one thing especially significant is the desire to allow game purchases streamed. At first, I didn't consider it but has value. Because Portal can be an indirect advertisement of PS5 Base/Pro since not only is it a significantly inferior experience. It also helps accumulate a library for the console if you eventually buy it. And it can also make PS Portal into a PS Plus Machine on the go. I think the AÀA handhelds really are down the cost of R&D. Because these platforms all share the Steam Library. So they're redundant by sharing libraries. Playstation Portal doesn't have any library to tap into but Playstation's

The way I was referring to Souls-like in a more lore factor, or more in a series factor. When we say "Souls" we refer to Demon's Souls or Dark Souls(specifically). Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring typically have much more than the original "Souls" games. Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3 are in ONE series, while Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring despite sharing elements, are in fact separate games altogether.
