Isabella Thank you for this info! I love your message but for my dogs this would be too much food. They would chunk up quickly. And they are walked everyday and active. I am a raw food advocate. I buy frozen complete raw meat patties- brands are “Stella and Chewys” or “Bones”. I add pumpkin (canned organic pumpkin in the store baking isle. NOT PUMPKIN PIE MIX) or when in season I buy a pumpkin, bake and freeze. Pumpkin is a binder and produces a good stool. I also add coconut oil and psyllium powder (Trader Joe’s- NOW brand). Carrots are full of sugar. I avoid them. Sweet potatoes have a lot of sugar as well. As far as the green beans. If you steam them then put in food processor or blender you breakdown the starchy membrane and dogs can digest easier and it’s more nutritious. If you are afraid to give your dog raw meat educate yourself on the subject. Dogs aren’t human. Their digestive systems are much shorter than humans therefore bacteria doesn’t have a chance to grow as in humans. It’s what they would eat in the wild. I buy the brands mentioned as they contain important raw ground bones which is vital. For treats I buy a product called Papa Psuka by Koda Pet foods. It is dried beef lungs. Sometimes I offer a stick or I cut up into squares and give as small treats and rewards. I also advocate to shop at your small, local pet food supplier. These folks are usually passionate about their animals and involved in rescues and a great resource for pet food brands with good quality ingredients that are not from abroad. xo

The carrots perfect round is a perfect block for a trachea if they don't crunch them...great tips and tricks! I've used them all and they work!!! I use my instant pot for veggies and homemade toppers, keeps the veggies full of nutrients😁 Can't wait to keep tuning in for all the fun stuff to learn! #pugsarethebest

YES! I LOVED seeing this Iza! thank you for sharing this with us. I do basically the same thing but I didn't think about the weight management kibble being so calorie dense. Soph, my chonk will NOT lose weight so I am gonna try doing the green beans, I DO cook mine with a couple of organic chicken livers or a half a slice of beef liver to flavor them, the only thing is I would caution folks about using human bone broth or any human broths, they use onions to flavor all of them. I either make my own or toss a little liver or even half a chicken breast in to flavor the green beans. My 2 would eat everything BUT the green beans. I also cut up my baby carrots, especially since our babies has lost 7 teeth and 8 teeth respectively. I am looking forward to more of these videos Iza and thank you again. As always, my She-Ro!

Thank you so much for this video. It is so helpful. I have 2 senior pugs that need to lose weight. I am going to try your tips and tricks. I have 1 question. My oldest Pug Lilly is 15 and she barely has any teeth. What do u suggest for her. I usually take her kibble and soak it in hot water so it gets soft before she eats it. Then I add a small amount of wet food and sometimes a bit of pumpkin and pro biotic plain yogurt. I have tried getting her to lose weight but not much luck. I have also decreased the amount of kibble I give her. She has arthritis in her hind legs so getting around is difficult. Do u have any suggestions for her.

Thanks for posting this very useful information! My Titus eats veggies with every meal. I found out early that he doesn’t like green beans. He would pick them out of the mixed veggies I add to his kibble. So now I just use peas, carrots and corn. He especially loves strawberries and yellow squash for a treat!

I usually feed my Kovu a small amount of dry food 3 times a day and at 7pm he looks forward to his sweet potato which he loves! He's 24.2 lbs, deaf and his back legs are very weak 😥 I will start giving him green beans in addition to either his breakfast or lunch. He thanks you for informing me how nutritious and zero calories green beans are 🐾😘

This is great! Thank you. I have a male who is over weight. The vet said to feed him frozen peas with his kibble, but he did not tell me to cook them. Makes sense to cook them! I need to walk him more but he always ends up limping the next day. Any suggestions for that? Mine also get baby carrots and apples for treats. I think a good topic for future could be "how to entertain a pug that has gone blind". She seems so bored and I do not really know if there are things to do with blind dogs.

My pug is 9, he is 2 stone 2lbs. He’s quite tall for pug and doesn’t look fat, however he used to be a lot slimmer. My step sister has a 10 year old pugalier and he has lost a lot of weight and looks like a puppy, he even acts like one too so I’m very interested in making my pug, Bert a healthy little guy once again. He’s became a literal barrel over the past 2 years or so 😭

I am so puzzled now my dogs were eating rice carrots chicken sometimes liver and every vet would tell me feed them keebles..the food was blamed for them getting ear infections so I put them on keebles now for two months. Pablo has gained weight and now that he is on antiseizure medication he is pit of control with his appetite 😳I see him getting bigger by the minute. 😑
