It is so refreshing to see that I am not the only one struggling to make a choice! I have narrowed my choices down to Abruzzo and Puglia in the Bari area. I am afraid that Puglia will be way to hot in the summer months, too hot to go out and do anything. I am trying to stay within a 7% flat tax region so that is why Abruzzo is on the list. I rationalize that I can spend time anywhere in Italy that I want and Abruzzo is kind of in the middle and make all areas of Italy easily accessible. However, I crave being close to the crystal clear waters of Puglia for hours afloat in my kayak, walking the endless mazes of the whitewashed villages, the flatness of the landscape for riding my bike. Ugh! Maybe I'll just toss a coin! Good luck with your decision and I can't wait to see which region wins. Thank you so much for the eBook. It's brilliant and will be very helpful.

Thank you so much for watching and I'm grateful you enjoyed the ebook. Many people choose Abruzzo for the 7% flat tax region and if you are craving the sea don't forget the beautiful Pescara coast is only just over 1 hour drive away from Abruzzo. Yes Puglia is very hot in the Summer months more so in July and August. Very similar to our Australian heat. The decisions are hard. If you are buying to stay a few months of the year and with an investment mind renting it out for the balance of time you are not there will make the purchase an asset for you. If you are purchasing to reside then the decision is much more difficult to get it right first go. For me I check the towns piazza area. It is the heartbeat of any place you visit in Italy. The vibe at night, the famous passegiatta in the evening, does it have cafes and restaurants in the town/historic centre etc. That was the big take away for us. I wish you the best in your journey. 🙂

Similar here; I.also think about airport, distance by car, distance to beaches, cost of land, quietness versus touristy etc...;)
@casamiasalentina58188 ай бұрын
@@mradventurer8104 Thank you for watching. Yes the amenities are extremely important and a town that does have life. Extremely small towns with no life may require car to travel around. There are many towns with less tourists that have all the amenities and walking distance with beautiful lively piazza areas and less tourists. Sometimes the road less travelled is the one.

Hi, I wanted to thank you soooo much for your thoughtfuly prepared ebook! I've been watching KZbins for almost 2 months now and have run across some of the connections you recommend for property finders. We are exactly in that place of "which province" and rent or buy. If events go as planned, we'll sell our Florida second home, and start looking in Italy in spring 2026. Wishing you a happy slow paced life !

Hey guys! Great video. Quick question: can Aussies still buy in Italy? I heard laws changed.
@casamiasalentina58185 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. Laws have changed recently and I will be talking with a professional regarding this matter to see if there is a loop hole like buying under a business name. We have an interview coming up in a couple of weeks.🤞As soon as there is some clarity we will definitely put word out.

Ciao amici! Well you know where we chose but I'm still curious to come down and visit Puglia for sure. I adore Tuscany and am so happy with my choice and David loves it equally. We are happy we chose a village that has everything we need but no hoards of daily tourists. It's lively and fun with lots to do in the warmer months for visitors but it's not crazy busy! We feel we have the perfect balance, however everyone's needs and wishes are different and there's no perfect place for everyone...thank goodness! See you next time ...alla prossima 🥰😍🤗

If you visit Puglia next year let us know we would love to be your hosts and show you the sights and I'm sure we will be seeing you in Tuscany. Take care.. alla prossima 🙂🥰

Living the same decision right now. Lived 6months in Ostuni Puglia, then 6months in Ortigia, Sicily. Now in Tuscany, Visited 10 different towns. Probably going to settle for Orvieto as finding a long term rental in any of these places in close to impossible.
@casamiasalentina58189 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. What a journey your are on. I love the towns you lived in. Ostuni what a pearl this town is up high on the hill with its ocean views. Ortigia for me reminded me of Salento region especially the Lecce are with its architecture. So many beautiful towns in Tuscany the choice is difficult. Umbria another beautiful region and Orvieto is a good choice. I would imagine long term rentals would be challenging in Tuscany. Perhaps check out Brads World KZbin I below he has a website that may help with long term rentals.🙂

@@mattoneill1272 You have got the right idea to rent it out in summer and travel to cooler locations. There really is an opportunity to buy in 2 locations in Italy in these villages outside the tourist towns and so much more affordable than buying property in Australia especially Sydney. Lots of choices and all that is required is patience for the right place to come along. 🙂💛👋

I've been lucky enough to visit SanGem several times at length. The first time was 30ish years ago before it became a tourist destination. We sat on the city walls at night, and watched the fire flies dart around below. Today it's still as beautiful but it's throbbing with tourists There are hardly any actual residents left and their way of life has completely been trashed -- for example, if they need hardware items, they need to travel out of town. This is what social media/Internet has done to so many once authentic places.
@casamiasalentina58188 ай бұрын
It is definitely not like the 1970's when I first visited Italy as a child when the locals lived in town. It is sad to see these beautiful destinations become like this and on the other hand I know these towns need the tourism for their livelihood. It's such a catch 22 for the country as a whole.

Hello thank you for your videos. Please can you share how you were able to purchase property in Italy? I am Australian and live and work in Florence for past 2 years. We would like to buy property however discovered Italy recently withdrew reciprocal relationship with Australia and therefore since 2023 Aussies are unable to buy property in Italy, Canadians as well. Please can you share who you worked with or who helped you find ways around this new mandate/law?our lawyers have said we need to form a company, any help is appreciated?

@@mattoneill1272 Thank you for your comment. As far as I know the reciprocal still stands between Australia and Italy. I am still looking into. The Sydney Consulate is difficult to navigate and has not updated the information. I have spoken to one property consultant in Italy and they were not aware of the situation. I am still researching and will let you know when we find the correct information.
