I guess like most of the pacific islands, the farewell is part of the process of sending off with best wishes which is the surface level understanding. Then behind the emotional send off, is the fact the group has entered their lives, homes and shared their the best of themselves during that process. The final farewell has greater meaning for them. For some of the visiting group, they may never appreciate what their visit has meant to their lives. Now they are apart of them whether they like it or not. Sadly, for others in the visiting group, they may not see the sense in this. Always important, before entering our sacred pacific spaces, anticipate how much your visit will impend on them to feel compelled to return it back to you in their farewells. Obvious the group left an amazing impression.

Is this Puka Puka in the Tuamotus, or Pukapuka in the Cook Islands?
