I turned 30 that same day! Haha! Great looking tractors. I like the patina. They’re only original once.

Yes it's hard to keep batteries & tires on equipment if you have a bunch of it

@NomaDairy They make around 105-110 at the drawbar, not much. Thanks for looking!

You should make a video explaining the John Deere number system for their models. I have always been confused about that.

The confusion would only worsen! I’ll take a little stab at it although I’m afraid I’ll probably fail. The “old” 2 cyl tractors were originally letters. A, B, D, G, R......... and so on. Those tractors were replaced by the first number tractors. Which were 2 numbers. 40, 50, 60, 70. The bigger the number the bigger the tractor. They were replaced with a 3 digit tractors. 420, 520, 620, 720. Those tractors were then replaced with more 3 numbers. 630, 730.... then around 1960 JD redesigned their tractors drastically and introduced the first ‘10’ series tractors. Most famously the 4010 and as you see here 5010’s. At this point JD had adopted 4 digits to indicate a model and the numbers are broke in to two parts. The first two numbers are the model of the tractor or ‘size’ if you will and the last two numbers are the series. So a 4020 is the replacement for the 4010. In the early 70’s JD again had a major redesign and introduced the 30 series. The line up of the bigger row crop tractors would include the 4030, 4230, 4430 and the 4630. Again the first two numbers indicating the size of the tractor. With increased size came more horsepower obviously. JD would keep this system of number more or less until around 2010 or around there I can’t remember exactly. At that point they introduced the numbering system they have today where the number tells you the series tractor and it’s actual horsepower. ie, a 8335R would be an 8 series with 335 horsepower. It seems a little confusing but once you get it you get it. But..... there’s always a catch. Some tractors and series overlap in production times making it very confusing. Example would be the famous 6030. They were made during the time of the 4430 but share basically zero parts with them and were the big brother of the 5020 of which there was no 5030 and inversely there was no 6020. lol so there’s that.

Engine HP 125-132!!!! However they can handle way, way, way more, just turn up the pump same engine as the 5020 and 6030, just minus the turbo in the 6030!!!!!! Great heavy tough pulling tractors!!!!!

Probably a 5020 pulling the 5010. Look at the manifolds!
