I actually got angry about your mom’s airport experience. As an immigrant and a child of an immigrant, this is NOT OK. Drop the airline so they can hold their employees accountable. The actions of an employee at work reflects the company and companies don’t tolerate that (or at least they shouldn’t). If you don’t want to name drop, then let the airline know. I 100% understand your emotions with what happened to your mom at the airport. My mom knows English but feels insecure speaking it because she said that people have made fun of her for speaking it so I've always had to translate for my her when we're in public. One time we were in a checkout line for a store and I was speaking to my mom in Spanish and translating for her when all of a sudden the cashier kept interrupting me and was telling us to hurry because we were taking too long. Then she proceeds to tell my mom to speak English and that she wouldn't continue our checkout unless I stopped translating and she spoke for herself. I was so mad at the cashier and the other customers where too standing up for my mom. But when I tell you I nearly cried because I was so mad.
