I don't understand the escape pod mechanic. Even if you got out without the traitor sabotaging you still "die" as far as the game cares. Do you get points or something for escaping solo?

It counts as escaping if you do so without it being sabotaged so the survivors are guaranteed a win because SOMEONE escaped. But it doesn't give you extra points and it makes it harder for the rest of the team to be a person down. It is more an emergency mechanic so you can win if the traitors have killed everyone else or if you want to get out the game faster e.g. if you are playing with randos and no one is taking it seriously, you can jump out faster that way.

The escape pod is really just for everyone, when you wear a person's body you dont lose your role, it just changes the player's name and their look, so you would still be inno

Hey Ze, there are some rules for project Winter to what is officially considered to not be in the spirit of the game. (You can read it on their discord). The two main things to do are : 1) Try to actually reach the goal of your Role. (Dont try to get converted in Blackout / Try to survive as a survivor, not to enable your team) 2) Do not use meta Information to figure out hidden Information. (Mostly : Dont ask to spell a role backwards. Its supposed to make sense in the narrative of being stuck on a mountain. There are other tricks you are not supposed to use. For example asking people to hum the music they are hearing - some melodies only play for traitors or after combat)
