Thanks for that. Useful as I'll be doing the same with my 67 Vet over the next couple of months.Was thinking about removing the gearbox first but now I see using a leveller I can leave it attached . That's great because it's a PIA to align the box lying on your back under the car.

From the exhaust manifold I'm guessing that is a 327. But it has a stinger hood and that was usually reserved for a 396 or 427.

I can field that one, since it's been a year since you asked. The 396 cars had a different hood, a 'bubble' type arrangement with vents in the sides. The Stinger was for 427s, and in '67. The Stinger hood is popular for its looks although I like the small block hood better. My own '66 with a small block has a stinger hood, but it is necessary. The engine has a '69 z/28 intake, and it makes the carb sit a little higher. The stinger hood affords extra clearance. Mine also has a slight cowl-induction feature, it's open to the rear.
