Probably an LS which would be ok since the last Pontiac V8s were LS1 based. But if they could get some flavor of actual Pontiac it would be cooler.

I had a 1964 GTO in HS. Hard steering, stupid stiff clutch, almost no breaks, one wheel peel, 9 MPG. I have no nostalgia for that car at all. I traded it for a 1971 Honda CB750 (this was 1973). Best trade I ever did. Yes that old Pontiac would be worth a small fortune now and the Honda worthless. But we don't live in the future. At the time I was sure I had by far the better part of that deal.

I feel people look at old cars with some very rose tinted glasses. It makes me laugh when people say my 1993 whatever is way better than any vehicle produced today. I'd rather drive my 2017 Silverado over the 2001 Ranger I had any day of the week. Modern vehicles make more power with less fuel and emissions and are significantly safer.
