I watch the TNT and Penda series racing everyday and I'd rather watch that era vs watching the current Monster Jam. Couldn't tell you when was the last time I've watched a Monster Jam show or anything on KZbin related.

My favorite Trigger King class.Thank you for making a KZbin channal dedicated to R/C Monster Trucks. My favorite trucks are EXCALIBUR,USA-1,TAURUS & BLACK STALLION.USHRA & TNT those were the good ol days.Not a big Monster Jam fan.Monster Jam is ''NOT'' considered OLD SCHOOL.i still watch USHRA & TNT whenever I have the chance.I have the Tamiya SUPER CLOD BUSTER ''BLACK EDITION'' its a limited edition from Tamiya.

Great discussion about the retro stuff, I know clods kinda rule the class in numbers and ease of getting into the class but wish there would have been some talk or discussion on shafty leafers in retro

Definitely love watching the older footage of Monster Trucks from the 80's-1990. Some of the best racing and era in my opinion. It's a shame that the Juggernaut isn't still available or at least the parts cause those axles are perfect for a retro truck. Especially being that the axles favor the look of the stage 1 and 2 trucks. I had a Juggernaut, but I ended up selling it to a friend. Should have never sold it. I think I still have the plastic for the axles and transfer case, just don't have all of the internal parts.

I'm currently gonna be building a couple of ZEI chassis's as Wildfoot and Power Wheels(no cantilevers) and after that I might have to build a couple of retro trucks. Maybe a Bigfoot 2,3,4,6 or 7 comes to mind, even though they might be a shelf item it'll be cool to have.

So if no 3 or 4 leaf is prohibited, that means you have to run leaf setup for shafts build?

Is there a way to see if there are races like this in my area? We have an active race club and a nice outdoor track. But when I ask about monster truck racing and freestyle they though I meant like stampedes and tmaxx and other random bashers.

Do you guys run foams in your tires?
@JoshRhodesRC3 жыл бұрын
In Retro, no I don't. I run the Gold Compound tires and drill out the breather holes in the rims to help the suspension soak up landings.

@@JoshRhodesRC I’m building a retro according to the Trigger King rules for a series local to me that hopefully will get going in a few months, and I picked the Golden Year blue compound. Because it’s softer, do you think foams are necessary? And if so, what foams do you think would work better? The foams that come with the tires, or the little ones that wrap around the breather holes that come with the Tribute wheels? I believe the series I’m building it for is going to have a combination of dirt and asphalt.
@JoshRhodesRC3 жыл бұрын
If using blue compound, yes, foam is necessary. You should be ok with the JCONCEPTS foams that come with the tire. However I did have some success running the blue compound with closed cell foams called Dueces Wild 2.6 from Crawler Innovations.
