Pulmonary hamartoma a benign chest mass

Fat-containing pulmonary nodules are almost always benign. Pixel densitometry is used to detect fat not immediately obvious visually.
Hamartomas contain fat, calcification (usually popcorn) and soft tissue and are usually well-defined.
