Great video! Thanks for the shout out for our Men’s Adventure Library series and congrats on getting POLLLEN’S WOMEN signed by Sam’s wife, Jacqueline. That’s a special keepsake. It was very cool to see you there. I hope we can link up again at PulpFest 2025. Love your reviews, Amigo. Cheers!

Yes! It was so great to meet you and Wyatt also! Next year I need to book the hotel earlier as I feel we missed out on a lot of the hanging out and socializing because we were in another hotel.

What amazes me about Pulpfest, as I watch peoples videos, is how I walked around there for three days and still missed things. I picked up that very copy of Terror By Night seen at 4:00 and also picked up a copy of that Zacherlys book from another dealer. I'm already saving for next year.

Ha! Totally. I did rebag some of them with my usual ones though because I like them better and am maybe a lunatic.

@@TheBookGraveyard I too am certifiable. If I take a paperback out of its bag, and the bag in any way gets wrinkled, I throw away that bag and give it a new one upon its return. I’ve also been known to buy a reading copy of a book as opposed to removing it from its plastic sarcophagus.

I love that the copy in the blurb of The Chameleon says that our hero Vance Garde is "mild-mannered" and then proceeds to tell us how he has a short fuse with Vance being "aroused to a fury by the slightest injustice" and that "a rude remark, an annoying glare" will "set him off." 🤣😂🤣

Didn’t think the opening punk music was appropriate, but loved seeing the show! I would have needed a lot of dough for this one. And remember that in every hobby, especially collecting, there are always know-it-alls who resent newcomers as though you are trespassing on their exclusive domain. It stinks, but thank goodness there are many more friendly veterans who love sharing the wealth! Thanks for the great video!
@TheBookGraveyard2 ай бұрын
Weren't into the punk huh? haha. I have some book haul videos with jazz in them. I like to switch it up. But yes, thank you for the welcoming comment! After putting this together I wish I would have said it in a more joking manner as I thought it was hilarious he asked me if my intention was to read it, but it does seem like I was upset, which I wasn't. Everyone has been super friendly; at pulpfest, in the facebook book groups, on youtube. It's a very pleasant and helpful community.

Was your copy of The Dharma Bums a first printing? I see that now you are turning into a Monarch completist. That's how it starts; you begin by just buying random books because you find them appealing, and suddenly, ten years later you find yourself sucked into the vortex and you end up like me...wanting every book, but realizing that if you continue that way, you'll have no room. So, you move onto only collecting certain publishers, hoping against hope that you might be able to manage your collection better. Alas, it doesn't work that way. No matter what, you will eventually have boxes of duplicates and piles of "Why did I buy this?" books. But I do enjoy watching your descent into the depths. Great video.

haha this comment is like a book version of scared straight!! And yeah, the Dharma Bums was a first printing Signet.

@@TheBookGraveyard You'll see... The footage you shot of you at the Pulp Fest reminded me of myself at the LA Paperback Show in the late 1990s; lots to look at and people to talk to. Then, as the years passed, I found less and less that I "needed" out there and it wasn't worth enduring the hellscape of Los Angeles to go anymore so I just stopped going.
