Pulsar 220F Brake Pads clean/change Front and Rear

There was squeaky noise coming from front brakes and also brakes were not effective after service. There is no big deal here, just got to take off the brake pads and rub a little on the sand paper(1000 grade) and reinstall. Video shows how to remove, clean and install the brake pads back. Hey buddy, how many kms done on the odo ? if it is new, let it run a while and it should be ok in few days.. but if the problem persist even after service, get it checked, usually new brake pads take a while to break-in and also might be dust particles

Bhai why did you remove the whole brake calipers in front , it has the same clips as rear right you could have done it without removing. Or am i missing something?

hi, i have my New Pulsar 220f just bought a week ago. The problem is with rear disc heat and brake jam. i took it to the service centre and they adjusted the brake. Now brake is ineffective and heating still remains now. They said rear brakes become ineffective after pads are cleaned. Should i claim for new disc system installed under warranty or is there anything to solve the problem. Please suggest!!!

Hey buddy, since it is a new bike the brakes do take a little time to adjust, if it is getting completely jammed then you have an issue with the brake system but if the wheel is spinning on the center stand and getting little stuck on a particular point then you can ignore this. Don worry about it, keep riding till your second service and then if the issue persists wank their ass to rectify the brake system. Mine is done 7k kms on the odo and compared to front my rear disc are always hot though I use rear brake less but its not affecting the bike performance and braking. and yes after cleaning the brakes would become ineffective for a while but it will get better after running about 10 to 20kms.

Thanks. I have an additional query. Now I have rode about 180 Km; and in about 2 weeks, i will be going for my 1st scheduled servicing (i.e. 500 km +). Would the condition be better that time (as per your advice) or would it take few thousands kilometer? What you say!!!

You're bike gets better and better after the 2nd service, but do a proper run-in which is very important, later you'll have no regrets on the bike's performance. Well, it might get better but if it doesn't don worry about it, like I said it takes little long time to things get settled in the bike.. and you've the warranty if something is seriously wrong. Bro I have pulsar 220 2011 model.the rear disc brake gets jammed sometimes that even Tyre doesn't move free.what may b the problem.the disc plate gets Soo hot we cannot touch it

Bro there is air in your oil line that comes from the oil reservior under the rear seat to the rear disc brake.. you need to get that oil out.... you can check out disc brake bleed videos to learn how to do it

Bhai maine 5 day's pahle bike ko diesel wash kiya jiski wajah se break lagna band ho gaye.. Tumhara ye video dekh ke 2 tyre ke pad polish paper se clean kiye lekin fir bhi break lagte hi nahi.. Pad 2 months pahle change kiye hai.. Kya karna padega...

Sushil Gharat i dont know why those guys spray diesel on brake parts, ok listen cleaning only the pads wont help bcoz the solvent might be there on the disc as well, tho just rub the disc also with a salt paper thoroughly (dont worry) and that should help, less of you have any sort of alcohol then use it to clean the disc

Yek baar clean karke dalo phir check karo... yek baat! Clean karne ke baad min 10 to 20kmS thak brake nahi pakdega thik se... but woh thik hojayega after sometime.. thats doesnt mean brakes are not working.

@@akshinde i cleaned my disc pads and replaced the brake fluid today bro .. But the braking is not efficient... Lacks the bite it was earlier having...so do i also have to wait for 20-25 kms? i rode 4-5 kms after that just to check the braking
