Apache history is simple - It all started with TVS-Suzuki Fiero 150. Fiero was a 4 speed bike. TVS did some R&D on Fiero, added a 5s gearbox and launched Apache eSurge 150, the first Apache. Then they bored the engine and launched RTR 160. Then again rebored the engine to 180cc, added ABS and launched RTR 180. Then again rebored the engine to 200cc, added 4 valves, balancer shaft, monoshock and launched RTR 200 4v. Then they did the same improvements to RTR 160 and launched RTR 160 4v. I dont consider the RR 310 & RTR 310 as true Apache's as they are 95 % BMW and lack the versatility of OG RTR's.

Performance & lookwise Pulsar 150 was no match for CBZ. And that's why they had to upgrade it with alloy wheels. That too, priced lower than CBZ. Moreover, Pulsar 200dtsi was eating sales of both Pulsar180 & Pulsar220. That's why it was discontinued.
