Hi ROHIT GAMING, sounds like your BIOS settings might have been messed up. Try to reset your BIOS to factory default settings. The easiest way to do it is by removing a pile size battery on the motherboard. Touch something metal before doing it to avoid any shortages from static electricity.

@@kingketodaily in this case the issue is not with the max supported memory but rather with memory compatibility. As you know memory has what's called CAS latency, if it differs from one stick to another it may not work properly on the motherboard. Usually memory is bought in pairs of 2 or 4. Similar problem both sticks work fine by themselves or in a1 a2, but unrecognised in b1 or b2
@PulsarTECH
@PulsarTECH 3 жыл бұрын
@@samuelgraham616 due to the chipset behavior you need to follow a certain pattern when installing your memory on the motherboard. Usually, if you have 4 memory slots available, you need to install in A2 first, or A2 and B2 if you have 2 memory sticks. But it all depends on the manufacture of the motherboard. Refer to your manual for the proper pattern. Usually, that's all it is. Let me know how it goes.
@samuelgraham616
@samuelgraham616 3 жыл бұрын
@@PulsarTECH The manual says for dual channel slots A2 + B2 followed by A1 + B1, A1 + B1 = B1 not recognised in bios, A2 + B2 = B2 is not recognised, A1 +A2 = not dual channel both sticks recognised, 1 stick in B1 or B2 pc will not post, both sticks in B1 + B2 pc will not post. So only two slots (channel A) works channel B does not, and the ram sticks both works in channel A so they're not faulty. I am assuming the motherboard is faulty. The pc does give a memory pmu training error when a stick is installed in channel B, so it "knows" its there just not seeing it in bios.

dude the ram I recently bought is shorter than my old ram which is taller (the height not length) I bought ddr3 1333mhz 4gb (old ram was same but 2gb) which should support by my motherboard (Ipisb cu) when i added it, my pc started beeping. It won't turn on if it beeps. I was running 32bit which should not work if i combined 4gb with 2gb but I have tried using 4gb ram (the new one) only but still didn't work. Do you know the cause of the beeping and how to fix it? Does the beep indicate the ram isn't working or my pc cannot run it? I really don't know and need some help.
@PulsarTECH
@PulsarTECH 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes if you hear a beep it's indicating that something is wrong with the system. There are certain beep codes for each error. The codes should be in the manual. But since you have changed only the RAM then it's probably the problem right there. First, make sure the RAM is installed properly, and I mean you should hear a click or be sure that it is 100% installed in the slot. Then also if you have more than 2 slots and more it's gotta be positioned as in the manual of the motherboard. Then if still doesn't work, reset the BIOS. If still doesn't work, check and see if the RAM is supported by your motherboard. Hope this will help! Let me know how it goes!

Hi Praveen, can you please write down your motherboard's model, CPU and memory manufacture brand and size? 1066 Mhz is normal, your motherboard doesn't run your memory at its top speed usually. 1600 MHz on this particular RAM can be achieved by enabling XMP profile in BIOS or manual overclocking. But right out of the box it wouldn't run at top speed.

@PulsarTECH

Hi Souls, if the two memory sticks you got are different aka different brand, speed, CAS latency, sometimes they won't work together. 🙁 Also check and see if the extra 1x8GB works by itself. If it does, do a reset of your BIOS to the factory settings by removing a small round battery on the motherboard for 10 sec. Hopefully this helps. Let me know 👍

It's driving me crazy - I had 12gb and now I only have 8gb! How do I get my RAM to be recognized in the other slot? Seems to be a common problem with upgrading. @PulsarTECH
@PulsarTECH 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Justin, sorry for the late response. Have you got it figured out yet? If not, then here's what I have to say. Unfortunately, that is a common problem with many pre-built PCs like HP, Dell and others. As they are using mostly OEM components in their pre-built machines, they buy them bulk and they are more limited and designed to work with fewer components than retail products (for example they have bios and driver support for certain memory, drives and so on). This is because it's cheaper for them and they want you to pay extra for their tech support and buy only products that they sell, very common practice with OEM companies. This being said, before you upgrade any of the components, please contact HP and get a list of compatible upgrades for this particular PC. Sometimes they list it on the website but I couldn't find it. According to their website, specs for supported memory are: Dual channel (one DIMM per channel) memory architecture Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets Supports up to PC4-17000 (DDR4-2133) Supports 4 GB and 8 GB UDIMMs Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers. I'm pretty sure your memory slot it fine. Unfortunately, from the memory info, you provided I can't say what frequency it is, CAS latency, buffered/unbuffered? Do you know the full model number? Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes!

Hi sopa, according to the manual for your motherboard 3 short beeps mean "memory not detected", so you're definitely going in the right direction. Hi The Raging, first question: when you swap memory sticks, does it detect only 1 stick in the same slot? Try installing only one stick at a time in the same slot to make sure both RAMs are working. Then do the same procedure with another slot. Let me know if they both slots and RAM are functioning. Also need to know what CPU you have. Since AMD motherboards support different generations of CPUs, there's a different support list for each one. We will need to check memory compatibility on the QVL-list as well. But first try testing the RAM and slots on the motherboard. Let me know! Cheers!

@@Kabe8980 according to your motherboard's manual, it only supports up to 8Gb of total RAM, so installing 2 modules with more than 8Gb total will not work. Also according to the memory support list for your motherboard download.gigabyte.com/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-g41mt-s2pt_v1.1.pdf it doesn't support any memory modules more than 4Gb capacity. Still you might want to try installing only the 8 Gb module into DDR3_1 slot and see if it works. But it probably won't. If you want to upgrade some RAM for your PC, refer to the memory support list and get another stick of 4 Gb. I hope this will help you. Please let me know how it goes. Hi, most likely it is the RAM but it could also be the CPU. Have you pulled out the CPU? Also make sure a 100% the RAM is seated properly in the slots and secondly that the proper pattern is followed. Also was it working before or is it a new PC build? If new, there's a chance that the RAM is not compatible with this motherboard. Try to update the BIOS. Hope this will help.

Hi! I am having this issue. I have ASRock 320m mother board. I have a Ryzen 3 1200 CPU. I bought this RAM (HyperX Fury 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 DIMM Black XMP Desktop Memory Single Stick HX426C16FB3/16), and it isn't recognized. When I press it into my motherboard, it just beeps 3 times. My original memory works fine, but it's only an 8gb stick. Does motherboard BIOS version matter? If so, the Bios Version is version 3.20 which was released in January of 2018. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already liked this video and subscribed to your chanel. Thanks

Hi FancyMasks.com, this is the most thorough information you provided 👍 thanks and thank for subscribing as well. Your motherboard does support 16Gb per memory stick, but I have checked the Memory QVL list and that model is not on there. www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/A320M/index.asp#MemoryPR However, this doesn't mean it not going to be supported by your computer at all. 3 beeps mean a Memory error. I think it's your BIOS that needs to be updated, but since you have an older processor, don't update it to the latest version and before you do that let's try a few other things. I assume that you use only 1 stick and not a new one and an old one together. That might cause the issue. First, make sure that you insert the RAM all the way, you should hear a click on both sides and then close the latches. Sometimes it takes good force to make them click. Make sure they are aligned right and try to press evenly. If it still doesn't work try to put it in a different slot. Also if you have access to another computer I would test the memory to make sure it's not defective from the factory or something. Try these first and let me know if it works for you!
@PulsarTECH
@PulsarTECH 4 жыл бұрын
I would only update your BIOS to version 5.30, because newer versions are not recommended for older processors.

@@PulsarTECH Thank you for taking time to answer the questions. I will have discuss updating the BIOS with my wife since it has a slim chance of bricking the machine. This is our only non-chromebook PC in the home, and with x-mas coming up we don't have any room in the budget if something goes wrong. For now, I'll just leave the memory on my desk and wait until we feel comfortable with the risks. The computer is pretty slow at the games we play, but slow beats non-functional every day. Cheers
@PulsarTECH
@PulsarTECH 4 жыл бұрын
@@FancyMaskscom you're very welcome! Also, try to reset your BIOS to default factory settings. This helps in many cases! The easiest way to do it is to remove a pile size battery on the motherboard for 10 sec. Make sure to touch something metal prior to this to discharge any static electricity that might be on your fingers. Please let me know how it goes. Cheers 👍
