Great discussion about possible the most asked question regarding the two different types of machine. Having owned both types for a couple of years now I totally agree with you that both are great on their own but better to have the advantages of both if you can afford to do so.

Hi ken I have questions I doesn’t have none of them but I really want to buy one , first ,1 first if I want to do permanent jewelry whit the customer can I do it with laser or is dangerous, 2 second ,which one is better when I have to do a very , very precise job , 3 third if I have a stainless steel jewelry like a chain, bracelet etc can I do it whit with the arc welder , and the last one where did you recommend me to buy it, company, internet website If you can help me I will really appreciate 👍🏻

@@Jose-gz6hp Hello Jose, I hope that you are well? In answer to your questions, I can only give you my opinion based on my own experiences and others may or may not agree. 1: For permanent jewellery either welder would work but I think it would be safer and less harrowing for your customers if you used a small pulse arc welder. The reason for my choice because a laser welder has a welding chamber and a safety curtain. Your client would have to place their hand and wrist into the chamber together with your own two hands. This would make the space in the welding chamber very tight to manoeuvre the clients hands into a position to weld the piece of jewellery, also the client would not be able to see what was happening to their hand. A pulse arc has neither of these restrictions… 2: Again, both types are suitable as both are very precise. The main difference is if the welding position cannot be accessed by the pulse arc’s electrode it can’t be welded well, if at all. The laser welder has an advantage over the pulse arc due to the fact that if the position to be welded can be visibly seen, then it can be welded very accurately. 3: Again both types have the ability to weld stainless jewellery very well, bearing in mind the restrictions I’ve highlighted in question 2. The answer to this question maybe a personal one for you of how much you are prepared pay to purchase either type of welder. Finally, if you are living in the USA, then Sunstone and their Orion range of pulse arc welders or their range of laser welders would suit you. Always ask if they have either an ex-demo or traded in welder available for purchase, as this my help with your budget. If you are in Europe then Lampert (Germany), Electrolaser (Italy), Freeform Fabrication (UK).

@@KeniloTube Hello Ken thanks for answering my questions , I hope your doing well, I think I will begin with the arc welder, because of the work that I do .my customers wants permanent jewelry , you bring a point that is very, very important and is the position of the hands and the space of the chamber that we have during the welding, so for safety reasons I will go with the arc, the other thing is that the arc welder will weld stainless jewelry very well . I really appreciate the time and knowledge that you give to answering my questions, changing the subject I got a bigger problem and is that I writing from Puerto Rico and we are being hit att this moment by huracán Fiona . good job guys, not the easiest thing to do but you covered the topics very well. if you could do a q&a regarding battery pack tab welding and the different options you offer for welding nickel or copper to connect cells for large current applications related to the EV industry that would be awesome. thanks

Funny you mention this. Stainless steel welds easily I bought a pack of stainless steel cable ties and tin snips cut them well. The lower power needed to weld stainless will make welding steel battery tops easier with less melt through. Nickle costs more and copper takes more energy and battery ends melt easily.

welding jewelry on a customer insider a laser cabinet is very bulky process, a pulse arc tig welder is much more portable and easier to use safely at a small portable table

The pulse arc is far more portable should you be using different venues and also a lot less expensive.
