Im familiar and have experience with Caracals The hissing is common and constant. When their really pissed their ears go "all the way flat backwards" and their neck hair raises considerably. You know without a doubt when they do. They require a lot of attention and active play including sparring. When you purchase one they come with literal instructions on this. Caracals are NOT big cats. PUMAS ARE NOT EVEN BIG CATS, Big Cats are defined by the cats belonging to the Genus Panthera. There are only 5 big cats. Caracals arent even big by size, theyre medium sized cats. Maine coon are a type of DOMESTIC cat that can become as big as any Caracal or bigger. But Caracals are wild cats, and must be treated as such.
