I enjoyed your comparisons and insight on the V2 range. I will use your valuable information to help decide on a new stab. Thanks 🤙

I have the impression, it is the other way around. The smaller the Stab, the easier for long distance. Less drag and less power necessary to move the stab up and down. I use a Condor XL front and Condor xs stab from Indiana. But I will try a big Stab und compare! 👍🏼 We will see!

@@martinellenberger3274 thanks for sharing your experience! To pump for a long distance I need to reduce the frequency having more glide to control my heart rate. A bigger stab allows it for me. I limit then the drag and the needed power by optimising my pump technique: little low energy pumps. It worked very well for me but I guess there are different ways to pump. Important is to feel good. Maybe it depending on the setups as well… I haven’t tested the Condor XL yet.

I was surprised about your conclusion also, based on other stab comparisons like kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZbGn2yYjr5ob8k . That a small stab can be more efficient as long as you are precise enough. I'm curious too about how you would experience not using a stab at all! (like kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4WueauBeciZfbs )

@ Thanks for your message! Well, based on my experience with the V2 Gong gear, I don’t share this point of view. This sport is new, different kinds of material and obviously way of pumping. No big deal, it means different kinds of setup are working fine and it’s good 👍 I did my first long rides this year, still learning and I will test other setups so my point of view might evolve as the material/technique are evolving as well ;) But again so far for me (my personal feeling) the big veloce stab 47H is the best for long distance (I’m speaking for more than one hour!) and for the freestyle moves as well! The most important is to use your setup as often as you can to get used to it, know it very well to get the best out of it! Never tried without a stab, might be funny to give a try ;)

Hi thanks for the video, useful! I am riding the veloce 47h with sirus v2 xl and was considering to buy a stab sirus xl to (maybe) pump longer. The sirus 50 is longer (5cm) than the veloce h47, does it make a big difference in your opinion? Can you reduce the pump frequency (pump maybe longer?) or they are very similar stabs? Thanks

@@juanjixx Hi! Thanks for your message! The Sirus xl and the veloce 47h is currently my favourite setup 😁 based on my personal experience I will not recommend something else. I tested the Sirus 50. You have more lift, for me too much, I prefer the veloce 47H, that I am using a lot. How long can you pump with your current setup?
@juanjixx6 күн бұрын
@ hi I can pump a bit over 1 minute with my setup but my stab is a bit damaged and I was thinking to upgrade to Sirus 45 or 50 for that reason and hope to pump longer? but I know its more the technique than the gear… 😅
@Ludo_freefoiler5 күн бұрын
@ ok! Well yes the training will make the difference, you are going to pump longer and longer. I understand if you « need » to change your damaged stab you are looking for sth more efficient. The veloce 47h is my favourite. But I never tried the Sirus 45. I think it can be a good one! The Sirus 50 is too big for me, but it’s working fine for long distance. No matter which one you choose, use it a lot to get used to it and optimise your pumps ;)

@ thanks for the advice! I weight more than you (73kg) so I will see if I can test Sirus 45 or 50 at some point and that may help me decide if I really “need” :) a new stab. Thanks for your videos and you may need to come pumping to the Ammersee, you should be able to cross it :) (but don’t fall!) :)

Hi ludovic, I want to ask you a question. I'm a winger and i want to learn also pumping (beach start mainly). I want to buy the sirus v3 generation (there is the foil setup on the gong website) but I don't know what size of front to buy and what size of stab of the type fluid h v3 to buy. Thanks

@@robinson3848 Hi! What’s your weight? Do you want to use this setup for light wind conditions?
@robinson38488 күн бұрын
I'm 64kg. I want to learn pumping starting from the beach and then when I have learned I want to use this setup both for pumping and winging in light wind condition. I was thinking tu buy the sirus v3 xl front wing with 136cm wingspan but I don't know if it is too small or too large. Thank you
@Ludo_freefoiler8 күн бұрын
@ yes, the Sirus xl is a good one! If you want something easier to get started, the Curve H 3XL might be a good option. For the stab, I haven’t used the V3 stabs yet. Depending on the frontwing you take, there are tables on the gong website where there give you recommendations to choose the stab.
