Blame the realtor who duped these poor honest locals by selling them a lemon of a property and profited nicely from it.

Realtor here…unfortunately much of the truth behind this story is not told. The state disallowed them to put up any protection after they were forced to take out the burrito bags that were there. A temporary permit was issued to the previous owners that allowed for three potential plans once that permit expired. The state then during the process disallowed any of them to be implemented. I care about these people very much and In fact I’m taking no profit trying to help them sell it. The fact is the state is out for a land grab on these oceanfront properties. They put homeowners on a hamster wheel trying to get answers and solutions. There are good eco friendly solutions that actually accrete the beaches. They have them all over protecting Waikiki, in waimanalo and outrigger canoe club. It’s called selective enforcement. DLNR and OCCL are behind this….like I said so many important parts of what my clients and I were trying to convey were left out. And yeah makes it seem like they were duped and I’m some greedy realtor, but that’s definitely not the story.

I noticed at punaluu, the high water mark has gotten so much higher in the past two years. Unreal. I go fishing there every summer but this year the high tides was super high up on the shoreline.

is it the State's strategy to condemn this ribbon of beach front land so it can be built up as a buffer for the highway? Undoubtably the erosion will eventually advance to the highway.

This is exactly the plan!!! You should see the copy and paste BS DLNR and OCCL sends. These homeowners sending detailed emails with laws and rights. They are ghosted basically!!!! It’s sick. They stalk these properties flying drones and walking in front with cameras. The property 2 doors down lost almost 40ft of his frontage once they forced him to take his burritos out. The guy hand chiseled his old cesspool. It’s horrible what they are doing to these homeowners.

Ocean Front Property purchase these days is so silly. Be it North Shore, Outer Banks, Florida, or Punaluu, rising sea levels and increased rates of erosion are inevitable. DON'T BE THE LAST SUCKER LEFT HOLDING THE BAG.

Another case for the city and county or state doesn't give a crap about the homeowner could have just left the sandbags where they were.

The funny part is they constantly put concrete and rocks along the road in the same area. I guess it's okay if you're the government but if you're a homeowner trying to save your house they fine you. How stupid this state is
