Punch Out Wii holds up to this day that I wish that Nintendo either rereleased the game on modern consoles, preferably on the Switch, or have an actual sequel be made. Sidenote, if the former happens, all I ask is if Punch Out Wii gets rereleased, all I hope is Nintendo add subtitles to the boxers.

It allows people who haven't played games from older consoles, whether it be them unable to buy the game, or never own the console that the game that it originated, a chance to play them without destroying your wallet.

Those are wrist wraps. While typically wore around the hand as well as the wrist, they are used by boxers to stabilize their wrist/hand bones, preventing their wrists from breaking from a punch. Also, this is not true because he was wearing them in the first cutscene as well, before he's encountered Little Mac.
