I talked to the showroom guys. They summed it perfectly, punch is the altroz in a different body. One is micro suv and other is premium hatchback. That's the end of discussion. Rest is just nitty gritty.

@RAJ it's just like mahindra kuv 100nxt in terms of design. And mahindra is not a hatchback. Full sized SUV: Fortuner, Endeavour, Alturus Compact SUV: Creta, Seltos, Taigun, kushaq Sub Compact SUV: Nexon, Venue, Micro SUV: Kuv100nxt, Punch Hatchback Premium Hatchback: Baleno, Altroz, i20 Hatchback: Swift, i10 nios, Tiago Compact hatchback: Celerio, WagonR, Tiago (yes tiago is at such spot, it lies in both) , Santro Entry level: Renault Kwid, ... So difference between Punch and Altroz is equivalent to the difference between A hatchback and Compact SUV. The former gives better ground clearance. Other than that everything is kinda same. First decide what you want. Something that looks like SUV but is small in size or a full fledged Hatchback. Once decided choose. Done! Now you can make endless videos covering this, hence content. Punch showroom visit and test drive points : - Thigh support for tall ppl is better and sufficient both at front and rear. The seat inclined upwards. Thigh support better than altroz. - Boot space is 319 only and smaller than altroz. - The door thud u wil not get as altroz. - The interior plastic toughness is not as altroz. I feel due to low weight plastic, they maintained less kerb weight of the vehicle. - Rear seat breadth is more than altroz and gives better cushion. - If driver is tall, then the rear seat knee room become less. Test drive. - Pickup and refinement with ac is better than altroz. Engine looks stress free even with ac. - Car feels lighter(pickup) than altroz with ac and with less load. - Noise level is bit more than altroz. - Steering feed back/response is not crisp as altroz but it's far better than WagonR and it should not be that much crisp in suv to avoid body roll during cornering. - Suspension is softer than altroz. - Low end power is good. Car easily picks up in 1st gear without any jerks/stress. Can easily picks up in 2nd gear to with ac. But what I feel is after 3/4 gear, mid range power is not that much as altroz. So altroz has good mid range power in 3rd/4th. Punch has from 1st till 3rd. Its made more of city drive and made of village drive where off-road and hill station involved which requires more of 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. One who is looking purely for city and occasional highway drives can go for it without much worry. I feel Tata tune test drive vehicles better than actual owner vehicle. Need to wait for car delivery and reviews for actual facts.

Being an owner of a Nexon XZA+ model and also having an Ignis AMT in the family, The Punch sits exactly between the two as it has the form factor of Ignis and most of the features of Nexon. Would have definitely gone for Punch if it had launched 3 months ago.

?? Nexon is a class apart from Punch. More power, more features more space(cabin+boot), ESP(a life saving feature IMO), bigger tyres, more status, more ground clearance etc. Is there any comparison apart from the fact that both are TATA mini SUVs.

@@UrVishal I would use the word lag or headnod instead of jerk. You will need to adjust your driving style which is quite easy and learn to understand typical speeds at which the car with upshift or downshift. If you anticipate it well then lag or headnod will be minimal. If you use Nexon sports mode the lag is also very less but your fuel efficiency might get affected. It's recommended only in hilly areas.

Go for Altroz if u can ignore below cons 1) City mileage 8-9 2) Slight jerk in 1&2nd gear 3) Mannual AC air throw issue 4) Dashboard reflection on windshield 5) Paint issue when get hit it gets peeled off 6) Leaner pickup not a car for quick acceleration. Note : For 1st time buyer it’s a great car.

I get a Mileage of 18kmpl in city mode regularly ...even got 22kmpl in highways. All your points are unbelievable for me. paint quality is top notch in Altroz as per my experienced. Altroz pulls great after 1500rpm,just had a slight initial lag which is not present now after the latest ecm update. On 3rd gear it can move without stalling at 20kmph and it can also reach 120kmph in 3rd gear.

ALTROZ is more premium but comes with cons like low ground clearance and is little more laggy than punch. Punch is less premium but new tall design and drive is little better than ALTROZ. If you plan to drive on hills where we need a little high ground clearance the. Choose punch else ALTROZ

Kiger is big in look and space management is good too, a lot of practical space but lacks in performance (you have to be really patience) PUNCH is better then Kiger in driving, handling, suspension. My pick would be PUNCH any day. Do take the test drive before you book. All the best!

Punch is good for beginners who just learn driving or who want to learn driving or for old age ppl who need a safe & good looking & easy to drive car in city & 60-70kmph speed on highway then altroz is not good choice . Altroz tubro is a perfect choice for them who really want that power, speed & best in class stability on high speeds on highyway , city & hills.

I am an alroz owner too.. Kal maine punch ki test drive li thi... Punch me driver ka sitting position or space behtar laga..first gear me bina jerking ke easily uth jati hai...cabin noise altroz se kam laga mujhe...steering altroz ki behtar hai punch ki handling mujhe Tiago jaisi lagi... Look wise mast hai samne se to lagta koi 15 lakh wali car hogi... Agar kisi ka run rough roads me hai to use punch pe jana chaiye kyuki rough roads me altroz ko bht sambhaal ke chalana padta hai... Mai 2nd car ka plan kar raha hu agar acche price point me launch hogi to punch lunga...

People are just talking about Sunroof to sound posh. I hardly ever find the need for a sunroof. Sunlight, heat, pollution, additional price..... Can't even open it if it's cold and/or drizzling outside.

@@srs4177 cabin noise koi bht jada nhi hai. Haan but jab rev krte hai. Ya gear shift krte hai toh thodi bht hai.. kyuki engine 3 cylinder hai. Vibration koi jada nhi hai. Na ke braber hi hai .
