Welcome welcome to yet another video!!! first off i just want to say I hope everyone is staying safe out there and trying to make their way through these tough times! on a positive note i'm pumped to share this experience with you all. its been a little bit since I was last at Alamo lake but i knew that Dylan and i could put the hammer on some solid fish. Never really revealed it or made a video on it but I redid the S.S. Schkippin Shmelt and added a ton more features. Completely stripped out the old decking of the boat down to just the walls and fabricated an aluminum frame inside! Cholla Ramp is completely under water now and it's the first time I've personally seen the high water ramp used. Just left there yesterday and the fishing was tough. Spent 4 days there and caught an average of 4 fish per day. This was the case with everyone we talked to. Not the Alamo I'm used to. Can't wait to go back though. Great video.

Great video man. I know you're getting a lot of questions about your boat.... but I just want to know how it handles the lakes around here, especially when the wind starts to pick up because I'm thinking about getting something like that for myself. And is that a V Hull or a Flatbottom?

Jace Green no worries brotha always happy to help! I take it to all the big lakes around my area and it does great. It’s short enough to move with the wake and doesn’t crash through it but the v Hull will cut through it if it needs to. Would not recommend a flat bottom on the big lakes. A lot of guys want to put the decking level with the top of the boat but I found with the v Hull that it makes it very unstable. I dropped the deck down a little bit and elevated the back deck so it would counter balance the front and there’s a wider surface area on the back of the boat to allow that higher platform. I’ve been caught in 30 mph winds in that boat and even though it was a wet ride it cut through the waves going 17mph and got me from one end of the lake to the other without any worries. The key factors for little boats on big lakes is a good outboard (I have a 15) and a good trolling motor. I have an edge 45lb thrust that I can hold myself in one spot with no problem. Doesn’t use a lot of battery because that boat is so light. For someone wanting to get a tinny I would get a 12-14’ v Hull with a good out board (9.9 or higher) and strong trolling motor. Deck it out with aluminum not wood.

And I was thinking the same thing about having a lower deck in a boat like that being beneficial, especially when you've got more than one person in it. Any videos or articles you'd recommend on doing a custom deck, or any recommendation on a base boat to start out with?

Jace Green I built mine to be able to fish two people. With the v hulls you can drop the deck and still have tons of storage up front because the cut is so deep. I just watched a ton of miscellaneous KZbin videos and looked at boats in our local boat retailers. 90% of it was just trial and error and playing with what worked best. If you can find a welded boat that would be better in the long run but riveted has worked for me
