Best of luck with it Jake - in general am very sceptical about people who plan to “roll the dice” in a marathon, especially on social media, but your hard training and mileage gives you the right to do so. Hope you get your goals, looking forward to the next episode!

I'd also recommend trying the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro 3. Its previous versions were novel enough, but v3 takes the cake - a lot more soft, bouncy, and so much extra cushion compared to other racing supershoes. (it's legal under 40mm due to the steep cutout in the heel)

How can I get to sub 20 5k? Is more either: (A) more zone 2 important; (B) More 1km repeats/500m repeats etc. if so how many, how much faster than 5k pace?; or (C) longer tempo (i.e. 5-10k or longer?); also what is your mileage for the week? Any response would be hugely appreciated!! :)
@Archeris2 ай бұрын
I did it by running more kms but also workouts like 6x 1k repeats with 2 min rest between on target pace or 15 reps of 400m at target pace with 30-45 sec in between rest.
@alexholmes72492 ай бұрын
@@Archeris Okay thank you, I am and will keep applying more KM's, do more tempo runs and also do more reps of 400m's. I will start doing 6-8x 400m this week, then go up to 10-15 the week after.
