I think, all the Maharashrian Thali Places were wrong! If you are looking for an Authentic Maharastrian Thali then you should try 1) Hotel Shreyas on Apte Road (2) Asha Dining Hall ( This is just opposite Shreyas on Apte Rd ) (3) Pune Boarding House ( in front of Perugate Police Chowki ) (3) JanaSeva Dining Hall ( Above Deccan Gymkhana Chitale Bandhu Store )

Pune is my second home. Even though i stayed there for only 5 years, the city has given me so many memories and connections for life. You tried covering most of the places (some quite old and a couple of new ones) which is amazing. If you are going there next time, see if you could try PK biryani house (the one on DP road), Sujata Mastani, Cafe Durga for their cold coffee, any of the Joshi Wadewale outlets for a good puneri breakfast such as Poha, Misal Pav, Sabudana Khichdi etc. There are some roadside outlets near Nalstop, Deccan Gymkhana where they make Loni Sponge Dosas. See if you can get your hands on that. You will surely love it.

Being a foodie Punekar myself I can validate you probably covered most important places.. Some of my favourite (subjective off course) are Bedekar Misal, Satvik Thali, Maratha Samrat, SP's Ghee Biryani, Desi Aroma-Baner, Mohan Ice-cream & Tilak's Chai

Haha since India is such a vast country with so much different cuisine and rating it with a certain criteria is nearly impossible..For Ex: The best Gujarati Daal(sweet) chawal would be the worst Daal chawal in Andra pradesh! It’s hard to describe how much I miss Kolkata whenever I think about food here in Pune. Don’t get me wrong-Pune has some great dishes. But somehow, it never feels like home. Each bite I take here just reminds me of the warmth and vibrancy of Kolkata, the street vendors, the unmistakable aroma of rolls and phuchka, the chai that tastes like it's been brewed just for you. Here, I’ve tried to find that same magic, but every attempt only makes me long for Kolkata more. The flavors, the textures-it's like they just can't measure up. It’s frustrating! You think you can move to a new place, try new things, and be okay, but every meal here just makes my heart ache for the food, the vibe, the sense of belonging I felt back there.

I totally get where you’re coming from! I love Kolkata and Bengali food too it’s one of the best! But hey, that’s Kolkata, and this is Pune. Don’t mix the two up! 😂 You’ll never find that Bengali essence in Maharashtrian food, and that’s okay. Embrace Maharashtrian food for what it is, and you’ll make peace with yourself and the food!

Not iconic but Koregaon park has some amazing cafes if you are looking for a fancy place to have lunch or dinner I would highly recommend sante spa cuisine ( a lot of vegan and gluten free options available) and lune cafe for hot chocolate and croissants
