I feel like there be something fishy going on but I need your input to compare it to. It just seems when I am getting the DoorDash Bonus Pay, I don't get as many calls for service. Is there something really going on or is it just my imagination?

I've noticed in my area, they only do the incentives when it isn't worth anyone's time to dash without them. For example, Sunday here is the slowest day for dash because hardly anybody orders on Sunday here. So they have to put the incentive out there to bait people in so that they will at least have someone to deliver just the couple orders that they do get then. My advice would be to forget about the $5 and up incentives unless you can be in the area doing something else and just have your phone on and ready to dash. But I truly don't see a point in going somewhere else just because you see the bonus incentives. I will however say that the lower ones like the ones for +$1.5 per delivery I have made plenty of money on and gotten orders back to back and sometimes two orders on the same route. Keep in mind that it might be different in different areas bit I think everyone need to know this.

I believe you are right about this. If you can maybe turn the app on while you sit at home just in case an order rolls in, that’s great.

During bonus pay time more people jump in, longer between each dash due to more people. When you get bonus pay, everyone in your area is getting it, they are not passing you by because they would have to pay you more.

I got on today and got $1 per delivering and it wasn’t too bad. I just made a video about it.

Agree whole-heartedly with all the comments about Dash: taking the incentive pay doesn't mean you will make more, it just means you get less calls. In addition, this is happening to me that you schedule your Dash to coincide with the incentive pay period, but the incentive pay did not get calculated and showed up in the earning; you have to email to complain about it. When I asked them why the incentive is not getting calculated, they won't answer me. All they say is 'prove it with a pic'.

I don't get as many calls when there is a bonus. Doesn't matter if I'm scheduled or dash now. Each dash pays less during that time too.I think it is because many more drivers are logged on at that time. Also they send me from one side of town to the next and, the app will lock up and send me dashes that I can't accept because it is locked which lowers my acceptance rating and makes me ineligible for bonuses.

I think your assessment is fair. If there are 2 drivers in that immediate area, and one is in a bonus pay area and the other is not... it would be easy for them to create a protocol to prioritize the driver without bonus pay. Then there is the percentage of orders you must accept, removing the control you have over taking only profitable ones. My overall conclusion is that it is only worth going to a bonus pay area if you need to dash and there is nothing coming up in your area.

Theres no difference between scheduling or dash now. Scheduling only ensures you get on.

I experianced the same thing and even when I scheduled days in advance I had 20-30 minute waits in very busy area. In fact I would pick up items and there would be 3-4 other deliveries right in front or behind me. Why didn't the app include those after when it knows I'm on my way to that location anyways? Questions non of us can answer unfortunately.

In my area there was a 5$ bonus going on from 6:30 am to 11 am. I logged in at 7am and didnt get any orders for almost 2 hours, I even drove to the hotspots. I decided to end the dash and log back in. I did that and got an order im 10 minutes for 5.50 +5.00. I delivered that order and waited another 45 minutes in a hotspot and nothing so I decided to end it again an log in with an hour left for the bonus and nothing. As soon as the clock hit 11:01 I got a delivery. I was so pissed

You only get two deliverys in one hour. It seems to me that you are right. That is why I do not worry about thr bonus delivery pay.

I feel like this (staggering orders / longer wait times during bonus pay) is what happened to me tonight and it may explain a lot. During orientation I was told I don't have to schedule my drives because it's so slow, but maybe I should try that and see if I get better orders / more frequent.

If the area you work in is low on drivers, it’s easy to get on whenever but if it’s busy, you won’t be able to work.

I've been doordashing in So cal inland Empire and for whatever reason anytime its bonus most of my deliveries are the minimum....i feel like the bonus is a way to lure us in and I used to make good money last year but this year it seems like I'm barley making it now with gas n mileage I'm putting on my car

Thats why I work friday to sunday, I make $500 en those 3 days its pretty well worth it, I work 10 hours a day. I work in the bay area West near San Francisco, I avoid San Francisco LOl. I do on mountain view and Dublin sometimes or Santa Clara so I go everywhere almost to check the best spot, Santa Clara gives very good bonuses but the traffic is horrible and a lot of apartments, so far Mountain View has been the best, not to many apartments and no traffic and plus theres very good bonuses, I make like $30 an hour in there, obviously not every 10 hours of the day but I make $11-$35/hour at least $120-$220/day 6-12/hours

Honestly I work in SLC, I used to make bank back in March, now I rarely get back to back orders. Also they really decrease the pay per order, the average in March used to be around 11$ and currently its around 6.50$. So sick of this.

At least your getting $6.50 I've had several orders come up as $4.49 sometimes I get some $6 or more deliveries but I've had to deny a bunch of the $4.49 because it was not worth the miles.

Yea I know. And it's a every day several times per day kind of thing in my area. That's why I am also working on other things as well like the MCA. I talked to another dasher today when I worked lunch shift and he also said that he was seeing a lot of low orders. He said he's been driving since Jan. and it was a lot more money then compared to now.

I have notice with doordash if they offer bonus pay during evening rush I don't get that many orders. Only a few time on a Saturday night when I was very busy and they offer bonus is when made a lot of delivery that day

Doordash is crazy sometimes I don’t understand it... Sometimes it show the spots red and you get a text from Doordash to sign up to make extra $$ and I could be there 1 hour with out an order and that’s not good at all

That happened to me today i got a order soon as i started and i hit dash iwasnt schedule and then after the one i waited about 30 to 45 min for the second one we are just getting the left over orders nobody wants

Hey Mike I too Dash in the Phx Market and I normally schedule for the whole day and during the bonus times I am lucky to get 5 or more deliveries and Phx always says you have to accept 85% of you deliveries during x time to x time. So altimitly you are forced to take every delivery offered to you. 😟

Hi Alex, an FYI that I did the orientation today in Phx and the instructor (Joe?) said his own rate is like 68% and to not take deliveries that don't make sense sense. Not sure if that goes for us mere mortals but I'll just have to see how it goes for me.

This happened to me in Tucson yesterday, but got 1 delivery 5 min before bonus time of $5 and nothing for almost an hour, signed off went home...wasn't worth it. BTW the one delivery $5 without bonus.

Hey Mike I dash in Mesa and Chandler ever since they started doing this bonus pay during lunch and dinner maybe a month and a half now. It seems that 90% of the orders are in the $5 range. Before I was getting $6-$11 orders regularly, now everything dropped to around $5. My friends that Dash in AZ say the same thing. Are you experiencing this also?

Ian W. - That’s exactly what I have been experiencing and I too wonder if it’s tied to the bonus pay. Because of the pay drop, I assume that’s what is causing more openings for drivers. I have a feeling things will change shortly because this sounds like a bad business model and not sustainable.

I almost feel like they are taking the extra money from the regular trips and using it for the weekend bonus. Unless I'm mistaken I think the delivery fee we got paid used to be $2.50 now it is $1 everywhere. Hopefully they fix it I'd hate to have to go completely go Ubereats and PMs.
