It's not that tanks are attackers. It's the release schedule that Kuro does. Because of the gap between releases within a team it causes certain characters to be stronger than other roles. Like how Liv Empyrea was the healer and main attacker in fire until Lee came out. Same thing with Ayla in ice.

@@Stalker_mechenov They probably won't release one for another year or two due to Alpha being one of their favourites and since she just got a leap (and another paid outfit). So by that time Nanami would most likely be the weakest in the team as they'd replace 21 first with someone a lot stronger. Roles only matter when talking about damage if they release characters faster. If they take 2 years to fill all three slots then there's going to be significant damage differences because of the way they balance characters.

not rlly a fan of how the progress of newer frames has kinda just been to give them bigger numbers. they clearly wanna try something new besides straight powercreep with affixes but i feel like a sys. similar to honkai's new characters that fill both support and dps roles would've been neat seeing that pgr always felt like a game that wants you to swap (and new tanks lit. have a rank passive that encourages this)

​​@@gigame5501Yeah, this isn't anything new. It's bad, but not new. In Opera Omnia the game had unique roles for characters (melee dps, magical dps, debuffer, healer, tank, launcher). As the game went on, and more characters were added, and enemies made stronger all they ended up doing was blurring the lines between all the roles and made characters deal more and more damage. Developers have an easier time just buffing up numbers over making unique ways to keep games fresh. Like the affix system has the potential to be good, but the slow rate at which they implement it on characters diminishes its purpose.

Idk man, this game has the best combat system and yet 90% of content is just "kill as much as you can as fast as you can". No skill no dodge just learn rotation and spam it for 3 min straight. I got so hyped when i first saw battles against bosses like those in celica class, thats why i started playing..got so sad when i found out that the game isnt about that and its just a dps chech..so wasted potential.

I play pgr for almost 2 years but here A ranks likely need less investment in my opinion, but in general every S-rank has equal investment. Almost every S-rank character has their own weapon and memory set which you won't mistake out (4 pieces of their signature memory and 2 pieces smth else. Please considerate how you want to use a certain character and read the description of the memory sets. They aren't long) As for teams, they've been always mono-element, which means there's always a dps, tank and amplifier of the same element. Meta-wise these characters get replaced any update (welp, for example Vera Garnet was the only S rank Lighting tank for 2+ years before Nanami Startrail, but it really depends) As for the dark team, yes, it's been pretty behind. Dark had the first amplifier-class Omn but it's very outdated. Karenina Scire isn't too old yet but given her gameplay I think she'll be pretty replaced soon by now

P.S.: As for character investment priority, I'd say that pretty much every character deals much damage if they have high Battle Power (BP), but it's recommended to play every character within their role. I'm a selective person so at the moment only my Lighting team is well invested. No. 21 Feral and Vera Garnet have almsot 6k BP but I invested more on Alpha, who has 7k BP I hope I could be of any help ^

While​ @@karista_sia is right about the team being mono element and the dark team situation, i think there is a misconception about BP, while higher bp is equal to higher damage for each character you cant actually compare them, for example my SSS+ sign bambinata with 7.5K BP still deals less damage compared to my SS sign kaleido with 6.5 BP, and bambinata supposed to be my ice team attacker, in the end what gives them a higher damage is their character kit that locked behind various investment (their ranks or signature weapons)

As for investment, i think it would be better if you are patient enough to invest on the fire team, empyrea (fire amp) and the tank that comes on the next patch (epitaph) is actually a meta for fire teams, and nihil teams that comes in the future, and quite f2p friendly since their kit is locked behind rank investment that can easily obtained for f2p player, as for it used to be the lightning team since crimson weave is SOOO powerful, but you will get her and feral for free next year, so yeah, if you're patient enough
