Most of the films in Punjabi nowadays are purely comedy films. Deepti Naval ji has rightly said serious subjects like partition, other social / economic issues should be explored in Punjabi cinema. It is heartening to note that the image of sikh sardars has got refurbished in bollywood.

There were jokes on Sikhs right and then there is s superiority complex in them and demeaning others in Panjab openly by calling them Bhaiyyas ,Baniyas ,Lalas but that time they dont fell awkard and justify that
