Nice content. Love the format. curious what Clanty thinks about how Nick uses the phrase "at my stakes its a fold" referring to the A2s OTR. is this a good way to think about spots readless when playing lower to midstakes? I feel like maybe it could turn into a leak if you are always assuming opponents are incapable of making a big bluff. Would love to hear your thoughts!
@eastyyy223 жыл бұрын
Thanks! We have to accept there is a difference between the stakes. The chances of someone at my stakes thinking about what parts of his range (particularly strong hands like houses or straights) need to fold on that river is so damn low.

Amazing thinking that goes into these hands but the thing I’m wondering is does he actually think like that within the time aloud when actually playing as you obviously don’t get 20 mins to go through it all 🤔

It takes a while to discuss, but without me blabbering on he would do it faster. Reality is that his brain does this pretty damn quickly in the moment.

Agree with everything said here. Actually wanted to react to you asking on steam what to do in the hand where you checkraised flop with a set of 3's, barreled turn, and river brought in the frontdoor flush and you jammed for pot. Jamming is not a thing here, opponent has a flush advantage since he calls with all his flush draws while you only checkraise like half of them. Essentially on this river you have a range advantage (more medium strength hands like 2 pair and sets, while he has more 1 pair hands), while he has the nut advantage (more flushes). And when you have a range advantage without the nut advantage, the play is mostly to bet small. Solver goes for a block bet and folds to a jam. Exploitatively this is also the best play imo, since pool loves to call with nonsense and doesn't bluff raise. Of course this is easy to balance by block betting flushes too.
@eastyyy223 жыл бұрын
Ah appreciate the input here mate! Do you lurk the stream or under a different name? Something felt off about this hand and everything you say makes sense. Thanks!

Be very curious to think if the A2 bluff line ever wins any money in reality when you face pot OTR, probably does with positive blockers, if he'd only 2.5x it not min-raised I think it would be making money. Can't accuse him of being unbalanced. Hard to score it though - Actually, I like it, weirdly enough, extremely creative but I think it will make money long term. NO PUNT.
@eastyyy223 жыл бұрын
Definitely one of the most interesting hands I have ever reviewed on the channel to be honest. It's obviously a thing in theory but I feel you are right, not sure how many reality folds we get! He makes a good point though, we need some bluffs, we want to have an A, so why would we not mix this in? Super cool spot.

I think he made a mistake in the first hand about 16 combos of JQ bet/folding on the river since the offsuit combos are not in BB 3bet range. It's more realistic to count with the 4 suited combos. On the other hand he didn't count all the AQo and suited combos and the 4 AJ suited combos which are betting the river at least with some frequency for this sizeing.
