The first thing you notice from the beach is the view of the Cartagena skyline.
The landscape is fantastic! From Punta Arena beach, you can enjoy Cartagena’s beautiful skyline. The buildings are located in the districts of Bocagrande and Castillo Grande. On the right side of the Cartagena's skyline, you can see the hill called Pie de la Popa, the most elevated point of Cartagena. Looking at the city from Punta Arena made me realize how good it feels to be out of its bustle for a day 🙂
The beach has white sand and blue waters. Beach is fully supplied with amenities - hammocks, tanning chairs, restaurants and bars, bathrooms, toilets, pool - the beach thankfully lacks the intense crowds of the mainland beaches. Music from the restaurants drifts over the beach, and if you’re lucky the performance will be live. The area is dog friendly too. A major complaint visitors seem to have with the beach here are the many vendors selling you overpriced things. Also make sure the boat operators aren’t ripping you off on your ride to and from the beach.
