WOW such amazing places you get to experience and share with us Jana, thank you! The hotel room looked very spacious with amazing garden view! The fresh from the tree coconut had me like omg! Now let's cut to the chase. The food. I am drooling. The beach looked divine! Grand Bavaro Princess Hotel: 5/5!

The coconut water is my obsession - it tastes nothing like the coconut water sold in carton boxes here and it's too heavy to bring home from the trips. The hotel was very nice, it's a great place to just chill.

Great video overall… just one simple question, I know is an hospitality business but don’t you think if you go to a country that speaks Spanish… you’re the one that somehow should be able to comunícate with them, or should we as a Spanish speakers demand to be taking care of in our language once we visit USA or Europe? Just something to think about.

I love your question, because it's something I have been thinking about a lot. My native language is spoken only by 10 milion people in one little country, so I never had the feeling anyone from outside of my country should speak my language and as a frequent traveler I understood the need of another language- and that's why I learned English and later French and now im learning portuguese... but the sad truth is, you'll never speak all the languages of the countries you want to visit, so picking one language is essential for international communication. If the choice of English was right or fair is a different question, but it somehow happened. I can show my respect to the people whose country I'm visiting by learning "please" thank you " and "hello", but that's all. If a country's economy stands even partially on tourism, the hotels need a few English speakers for tourists to feel welcome and safe. I understand it's not easy to learn a new language, I don't expect every single person I meet to be fluent, but at least at the reception there has to be a single point of contact that will get the message across.

Very informative, 1 question tho the room you stayed in was the platinum suite ? Don't you instantly get platinum benefits or you still have to pay an upgrade (im going in june and i reversed a platinum suite)

We didn't book the platinum suite, it was a normal room without any "special benefits" if you booked platinum suite you will have access to 1 extra pool, 2 other restaurants and probably some more extra perks. Enjoy your stay!

I have a question, does the hotel for accidental fee deposit when checking in?

I don t think so, i have checked my card statement and no deposit was charged/returned. we paid through Booking though I don t know if the rules change if you book directly

Yes it is very common in countries with weak plumbing system that there is a basket next to the toilet where the paper goes. I still didn't get quite used to that to be honest.

@CurvesOnTheRoad that's weird I have been to Dominican a few times and never seen this. So weird. In any case I booked this morning before I saw your video lol. What is the seaweed situation the beach. I am going mid July.

@@goosem4554 We went in November and the seaweed was not too bad, better than in Cancun. The hotel in Santo Domingo had a sign about the toilet paper, airport as well for sure, I simply kept the rule. Enjoy your holidays, you will have a wonderful time.

@CurvesOnTheRoad okay so I joined a fb group for this resort and they are reports of hand foot and mouth disease going around with kids picking it up there. Did you her anything about this when you were there?

We didn't have any kids with us, so I haven't heard anything like that. We had mild diarrhea, but I have that in every seaside location I go to. I would say here it was one of the mildest. There are lots of free roaming animals, not sure where the kids could catch it otherwise

@@CurvesOnTheRoad The mosquito feast on my legs on the first night at room 4802! We had to switch to room 6612 since we couldn't sleep at night with all the mosquito flying around our heads!

Don’t waste your money. The rooms are dirty, filled with bugs (roaches, mosquitoes and flies), there’s mold in the bathroom, beds, chairs, and sofa. The main pool is murky and disgusting. Horrible place! I don’t recommend.

Im really sorry you had such a bad experience. I kinda agree with the main pool being a bummer but we were there off season and when there were not that many people apparently the cleanliness was better because we definitely had a nice clean room.
