Hey Doug! Great play as usual, just some rough hands (as usual🙄). In the last hand (your AA), I had a last minute thought of him jamming with KK. That would be a pure player read/hero call/BIFF though. Just an epiphany from an average Geoff. ✌👊

Way to turn around a session after a mistake. An active, aggressive player on your right is a great boon. Besides paying off the guy you knew wasn't bluffing (and failing to credit that the guy beside you was likely to have you beat), this vlog was full of great play. The game is so much easier when you're not in the hand. If you're in the hands, and consistently making good decisions, you should feel good about that. Compare this vlog to your play from two years ago. The difference is night and day. Well, dusk and day, anyway.

Never say always to anything in poker. Depends on your opponents and game flow. If you feel your ahead and get called, bet is normally best. If your opponent can put you in a tough spot by check raising you, you might play it slower.

Can I recommend some coaching? This type of thinking/approach is unsustainable and will get you crushed. It’s not just the KQ hand. It’s lack of understanding what your purpose is in each hand and on each street. Not having a clear purpose on each street will lead to impulsive decisions that have nothing to do with Present Moment.

At my home casino there’s a guy who is super loose and aggressive who when he comes to play everybody wants in. Just so happens he there Friday evening and is spreading the money out to the tune of 4K in a 1/3 no limit game. He buys in a grand at a time and I saw 4 buy ins. Super fun to play with super sticky and I busted him out last in a 1600+ pot with a5d. I turned 2 pair to his ak. It’s was a good time.

The KQ♣️ hand was not your best effort. The nit was calling everything and with 2 pair on the board I would give him credit for a better hand. Checking to him on the river would have saved a lot of money. Oh well I should never criticize your play as you’re still way better than me. One question, did you not know the player on your right had AK?
@dougmccuskerpoker
@dougmccuskerpoker Жыл бұрын
I don’t mind the small bet with the intention to fold to a raise. I was planning to fold, but my mind couldn’t figure how he got there with a 9. I was concerned the other player had AA or AK, but I went for value if he had a smaller pair that would pay off.
@stevelc1531

Why go all in on river with K9 clubs if you think you’re K is good and targeting your opponent with a pair of Q’s. This makes more sense if you want a fold and you’re turning your hand into a bluff.

OK so you made one play you shouldn't have, you still ended up with a profit. You could run like I do instead. Wouldn't you like seeing QhQd utg, come in for a raise, a horrible player shoves preflop, and you of course call, and he shows Qs5s. Wow what a great spot, 87% fav. As usual for me, he hits his 1 in 11 flop for a flush draw, and catches it on the river. Yes, you could have saved some chips by folding, try losing your whole stack to a maniac when you have him dominated. The latter is much worse.
