Good info. I always punch a hole in filter, let it drain. this way oil doesn’t run all down filter and arm to make a mess.

I know nothing about Chevy Tahoe. Just wondering how difficult it is to maintain and repair this large SUVs. I see that oil change is straight forward, thats a good start.

It's easy. Not much to it.

How do you really know when the oil needs a change. Because it’s not always what the dealer says.

My truck has an engine oil life counter. Usually charge it around 15% left.

I see some comments about not filling filter 1st, My 1st clue that this guy didn’t know was, Fram
@YouDontKnow-that2 жыл бұрын
dealerships don't fill the filter first. Hardly anyone does that.

You do know that FRAM is the absolute worst oil filter on the market ... right ? I can't believe you used one on your expensive truck.
@TheCuban.453 жыл бұрын
I agree that Fram is the worst.

Fram isn't the absolute worst. They are decent, they have to be. They've been around longer than you. They just aren't the best. They are a mass-market filter brand. There's plenty of white box crap from parts stores and no-name stuff around that is really the "worst". Before you start hammering on the keyboard, take note that I haven't bought a Fram filter in 30 years. I have mostly used Toyota OEM, Wix or Honda OEM. I think I used AC Delco when I was dumb and bought GM products.
