Wow! I never realized that Martin had been working on Sesame Street since the early 80s! Boy that’s a long time! But anyways, if it wasn’t for him than I don’t think Snuffy or Telly would’ve ever been apart of the legacy of Sesame Street!

Interesting what he says about Telly not being "safe" or "cuddly." When I watch Sesame now, it seems that the characters have lost their idiosyncrasies and they're all pretty much like that. I can't imagine the Bert I remember cheerfully singing "what's the letter of the day?!" or Cookie talking at length about how to best care for a kitten. On the other hand, Chris can sound awfully condescending sometimes. Anyway, thanks for this. It's nice to hear Marty talk about his work over the years.
