The children are so focused on the puppet and entertained by him that they barely noticed that your mouth is moving. Only one Kindergartener has said to me one time - and one time only - I can see your mouth moving. No other students have ever even commented on that.
@puppetarians22 күн бұрын
@@rafunderburk Thanks for your comment. You are right, infact when the audience sees a puppeteer work the puppet in front of them it becomes more intriguing. Apart from just enjoying the performance they also start imbibing how the puppeteer is working the puppet. It's Ventriloquism that is the art of making the puppet talk without moving your lips (or moving them ever so slightly). Other kinds of puppeteers usually don't practice that.

I've been practicing puppetry, but my arm gets tired very quickly. I've been thinking about using some sort of stick (Like a broomstick). At the top would be the puppet and manipulate it from below. IDK 😂😭
@puppetarians Жыл бұрын
Hi Dan, thanks for writing. Arms getting tired is natural. All puppeteers face it and try to take it in their stride in various ways. So you are not alone in this struggle, it is real.❤ But some ways to tackle the fatigue is to warm up your shoulders, arms, wrist and fingers before you pick the puppet up to perform. That will definitely help. Also try to do some exercises few times a week that strengthen your arms and shoulders. Using a stick to manipulate a talking mouth puppet may not give you enough control. Even though rod puppets have been there since as long as puppetry has existed, but each puppet style has its own pros and cons. All the best!

Ma'am I learned shadow puppetry from your channel. But the only problem I face everytime is that I am not able to hide the stick, which is attached to the puppet to control it, from the screen. That stick appears on the white screen. What should I do?
@puppetarians Жыл бұрын
Hi Priyanka, thanks for your interest and query. We are glad to know that our shadow puppetry video helped you. Now, to hide the puppet stick attach the stick perpendicular to the puppet like shown from 37:00 to 40:00 in kzbin.infofEoj-x9GCBc?si=kHOfwvCc3jKYwAvi and place the light slightly from the top. That'll surely help hide your puppet stick well. All the best!

Mam i want to buy puppets best under 1000 from where i should but price is really high online plz help
@puppetarians Жыл бұрын
Hi, depends on what kind of puppets you want to buy. In India stores like Hamleys keep a few hand puppets. But the choice is very limited for the cost. We'd suggest making your own simple puppets at home, that will be less costly and more personalized for you. Your mouth should not move while the puppet is talking.

That's ventriloquism where you don't see the puppeteer's lips moving so much. It come under the big umbrella of puppetry. But it isn't the only way to make your puppets talk. What you see in this video is a demonstration of the talking-mouth puppet or the 'muppet style' puppet. And muppeteers don't try to hide that they are talking for the puppet, also because mostly they are hidden and only their puppet is seen.
