Most gentle groomer I have ever seen. Most all of the groomers online make me cringe to watch with how rough they are!!! Funny story is that many months ago I sent your link to my brother bragging on you-and found out he already was a fan of yours.😃He said “She’s the BEST! Only one I will watch.” I totally agree!

Hi love the videos! Could I ask a Q? My boy is a rescue he was very badly abused. He is absolutely terrified of his nails being trimmed. Not the fear some may have where after a little coaxing they will allow it, he is completely terrified. He won’t let strangers touch his paws or legs (so I can’t use a groomer) due to his past. I have tried several techniques including a 5 week program which led up to the actual trim. He was fine with the nail touch (last week you touch their nails with the clippers - tho you will know what I mean!) but the moment I went to perform the actual trim he lurched back & away. My vet is on essential services only and tbh I don’t want to have to go to the vet for a nail trim where he’s held down (more trauma) or worse anaesthetic. But I want his nails to be trimmed once a month (I’ve always done it once a month and filed inbetween if need be) and I would like to do this. I recently saw a lovely boisterous pitbull being put in a harness (like an upside down coat?) and hoisted up slightly as he would fight the nail cut too! My boy is an American Staffordshire Bull Terrier so not quite as big. I felt that it could be a good idea. He is perfect for baths, brushing, all other grooming etc (tho he finds paw moisturiser tiresome) he will let me clean his ears, and will put up with otidine (he’s a dirt slider!) I can even put hot spot gel on his pads (he has allergies) so he is calm (albeit grumpy to paw moisturiser) with everything else. But his nail trauma (I think they used human nail clippers as he used to be terrified of the sight of them) is too great for him to yet overcome. I really want to help him so the process becomes bearable and doesn’t involve pinning him down. As that has made it worse. And it’s awful. I am desperate as you can probably guess, you are an excellent groomer by the proof in your videos, so I felt you might have a glimmer of hope to offer. I am happy to use a harness that is suitable to help. He will jump back up with his butt on the floor (think meercat sat up) then bolt and hide under the quilt. He is also mad at me right now as I’m taking too long to ask you and he is jealous! 😂 So if you’ve made it this far (thank you) and ANY advice you can give me that will help him be able to have his nails trimmed, that won’t harm in anyway I would appreciate. Thanks so much, Angel (& Niklaus aka Niko or Noodle) 🙏🏻 🐶✌🏻

There are many groomers that know how to work a dog through fearful hurdles such as fear of nail trims. I have had success with multiple dogs who fear nail trims. Call the groomers in your area and tell them his story. I’m certain you will find a groomer who has the ability to help him. He will likely do better at a grooming salon than at home. I have many videos on my channel telling my secrets to nail trims. Good luck! 😊

Do you have any other advice? Like for hair loss around eyes and itchy skin and ears? We are from FL and live in an apartment so any tips would be great?? Especially grooming her now and getting her to have healthier skin and coat and nails?

Hi:) Wahl does not sell their products. Their products are sold through distributors so I would reach out to wherever you bought it if it was not properly packaged. All clipper blades get hot on detachable clippers because they’re powerful and the blades are metal which produces friction. That’s why they make cool care to cool the blades I talk about it a lot in my videos. Please go watch my video on clipper blades and you will learn how to care for your blades..

Frequent, short grooming, brushing, handling sessions in the grooming table. 2-3 times a week will do it. If you do, and you are calm confident. It will be exactly the leadership she needs. She has no idea what you want her to do, you have to teach her.

I have a senior Shih Tzu , and just bought a Wahl KM10 ...it’s hefty & powerful.. He had a full pro groom 2 weeks ago, but i thought his sanitary areas were tp shaggy. I used the 10 blade on the behind with no problem. I was a little timid to do the penis private area with the 10 blade, but I did a few gentle sweeps with the clipper, LATER on in the evening I noticed a bruising red blotch ... on the penis area, I guess I was too rough, & I thought I was being gentle...I AM HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS WHETHER I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE CLIPPER... I certainly don’t want to hurt my little old fellow... 😢😢😢
@GoGroomer Жыл бұрын
It is not the clipper, that is caused from you applying too much pressure when clipping that area. Or you did not check to see if your blade was hot. If you are going to trim your dog, it is so important to learn proper methods. These are things professionals learn when training. My videos are designed to help you miss these pitfalls.
