Look Even now the people that we called brothers and sisters. Are still trying to cheat us. Just like our forefathers they took bribes from the white men and others to enslaved us.With all we have gone though. now we are going back is this how some of our brothers and sister going to treat us. This is exactly what the European want to see. Then they will say. Look they are ruining back to Africa for a better life. Africans the world is watching to see us fail and to us fall our faces Please, please brothers and sisters treat the returners from the diaspora well so that the Europeans can see-that we have really come to a better life than the one we had in the diaspora. This a chance for Africa to show the world that they dint forget their forefathers nor their children in the diaspora. To be honest I don’t even think Africa should be selling us land. With all we had lost. Land should be given free to those returning from the diaspora or if not given free soled to us at half the price. Has everyone not made enough money through us and our forefathers in the past??? This is my operation an African who was borne in Jamaica who had been living In England for fifty years. Now I would love to go back to Africa when I retire next year. ??

Some yrs ago we bought land in charleston, sc. It was family ties. When we found out, we had put water n electricity on it. The rest of the family didnt want to sell. We got a lawyer and got the money back for the land , electricity n water. Have to be careful of those kind of schemes. Thanks for the reminder.

Oh my goodness, this is painful to watch. As an African born in the continent, I'm hurt, I can't stand to see my family from the diaspora taken advantage of. Don't be naive family, my advice, involve your local lawyer in this process. You see, the guy does not want you to contact the police, that's a red flag right there!!! GET A LAWYER AND INVOLVE THE POLICE as soon as possible.

Good Dad and Mum be strict on this types of transactions they’re middle men in the land business the problem you have is the local language barrier if not you can do this transaction very easily and less cost and I must say that Dad and mum you’re on a good track preparing your kids future to be well integrated in the Gambian culture which mean have land, build your compound and live stock to be self sufficient that’s African culture in particular The Gambia 🇬🇲

Again I admire your courage for posting such a video. The saying bullshit baffles brains comes to mind with this guy he is talking to much without getting to the point. I don't know about Gambia but in other african countries I have been advised. Take your time, stay in the area for a while getting to know people and ask around as to who owns what land make sure everybody says the same person. You have undocumented land (let's say tribal) and then already documented obviously the first can be more risky with land disputes etc. Once you found someone that wants to sell the land either you know them or are introduced via a broker I believe you start to negotiate. Also get involved town councils and local chiefs if possible because if there scammers the more people the more a scammer would be exposed. Go to a reputable law firm they will do surveys and searches on the land and draw up all the docs and go from there. If any Gambian who has purchased land can comment on the above info saying if its relevant for there or not or any other info to help them would be appreciated. Personally if I was you I if you haven't consulted a law form that would be my next step explain fully what's happened and they will know pretty much right away if the deal is bogus or kosher. I hope you compared land prices to because if I'm not mistaken your looking at 2.5acreas at £9k in the countryside seems a little steep but again I'm not there ofcourse. Good luck to you all and hope it works out. 👍🏻

well you have to blame them for this mess, In Gambia you have to get a Lawyer before buying a property, this is the norm and requirement, Even Gambian s do that too, you just cannot buy land from person to person, there is 90 percent chance you will be scam...

One has to be super Cautious when dealing with buying land in Africa. Even if it involves blood family, it has a lot of pitfalls, there is always jealousy, Envy, and overwhelming greed amongst family, make sure you get reputable Lawyers not just any cowboys Layers!! They will guide you through the process/ land and title check through land registry officers, all records and maps and layouts of the region, exchange of title recipe Date witness FEE, exchange of money!!! If you do it correctly, it would save you money in the future for potential LEGAL COSTS!!!

i am pissed off about what i am hearing here. I love the BAG family and i really do not want to see them scammed in The Gambia. That will be very disappointing. I wish i was there to help you guys sort this out. You should have taken that Nigerian building contractor along when making the land purchase. I know you guys really love Africa and want to settle down permanently. But you cannot go about it alone. Looking at this video, i see just you and your wife against the land sellers. You guys have only been in the country for just 4 years. That is wrong. Link up with a resident Nigerian there. Let him act as a sort of PA to you. You will heve less problems. This issue should have been sorted out from the begining. I am not happy about this at all. I just bumped into videos 2 days ago and i have watched a whole lot of them. Do not give up. Yes, I am Nigerian.

I personally have purchased and owned land in the states so I would've gone straight to the building that holds records as to who owns the land and have the person claiming to own prove that they are the owner. Isn't it amazing the one that's begging u not to go to the police is the quiet one in the first video saying nothing, sitting as the king of Gambia, and chewing like a cow😏🤨?
