Uconn had a great defensive strategy to not give Purdue many 3 point chances, and their supporting cast hit baskets when they needed. Uconn was the better team. Congrats to them. Purdue fan here

Even though Purdue couldn’t complete the job, they became very motivated from that loss to Fairleigh Dickinson a year ago. Still though, this was a really great season for them overall and nothing for them to be ashamed of.

@@HurricanePatrick actually it was the opposite. The other coach defended the perimeter first. They should have went inside more. Zach should have had 50 and they should have pushed the ball up the court quicker but it would have required Zach to exert his cardio to a new level. Anyway Purdue beats UConn 9 times out of 10.

Unfortunately, the record books don't recognize 2nd place finishers. No one or team starts the year and say "our goal is to finish in 2nd place this year". No players say "I'm returning to college for one more run so that I can be the 2nd to last team standing". Runner ups only get consolation prizes.

@@rmac8645unbiased fan here that was Purdues one chance. It won’t happen again anytime soon. And they’ll never get over the hump until Painter learns to make in game adjustments. That press was the worst thing I’ve ever seen. And their year long one dimensional play style ended up being the Achilles when a team decided not to double Edey.
